You know, I really hope Rodriguez can save himself for la Vuelta and smash it on home turf. I'd love to see him win. I do t believe it will happen, but what a great finish that would be.

As much as Im a sky fan and you're not I have to agree..the quinana show has jus failed to materialise thus far and make it in any way interesting up front. Real shame as there have been a few good racing days.

The teams are too big, and Sky's team is far too talented. Landa, Poels, Nieve and Henao would either be team leaders or lieutenants at smaller teams but they're "just" domestiques. They can just take it in turns to have days off while the designated riders smash up the climbs at 375w+. No-one can attack because it's almost at the limit of what's physically possible, as you would expect from elite climbers.

Also, has Froome ever had a bad day at the Tour (aside from crashing)?

He lost a little time to Quintana last year going up Alpe d'Huez iirc. But Quintana was so far behind anyway that he couldn't make up enough time. And although most are aware of this, if Quintana hadn't been careless on those early windy flat stages he would have probably got the yellow jersey.

Last year? Yes, Quintana ended up on the wrong side of a major split on the long flat windy stage in the Netherlands as I recall and that absolutely killed his chances.

Really hope today is interesting! Making a proper day of it as going riding with some mates and then watching it with a bbq this afternoon!

He had a bonk when the Jaggggg broke down a few years ago and he had no food.

Porte saved him with a gel & illegal feed later on the stage, got a minor time penalty but could have been minutes if he had a big hunger flat.
