Pro Cycling Discussion Thread 2015

Honestly, if Mark can't find the speed to beat Griepel and Sagan then he needs to have a little think to himself. He possibly went too early, but I am making excuses for him. That was ****.

His team cocked it up. They had plenty men to control the lead out and all they did was deliver Renshaw far too early. Personally I don't like CAV so not bothered about the result. I do wonder what his interview will be like!!!

He won't give one mate. I'd be amazed if his bike and helmet made it back to the bus without getting bounced off something.

I love Cavendish, he's always been my favourite sprinter. I hate it when he loses :(

He's getting a pasting on social media as well.

Cav went too early, The Gorilla was behind him rubbing his hands at that move. Typical EQS based on this year, terrible execution.

So it's day 2, my Cav prediction is thus far spot on, and my prediction for todays race winner was spot on. If only I put £20 on him.... :(

Poor from eqs, froome and contador must be delighted. Takes a lot of pressure off them for the rest of the week.
Also great sprint from froome to get a few seconds over contador! Sky really on the ball today!

How eqs messed that up I don't know, but great sprint from sagan and cancellara!

Valverde for tomorrow's stage for a 3rd on the huy in a row! :-P

I haven't checked the BMC list. I assumed. That may have been a mistake - he has just ridden the Giro after all.

Just been looking into it. He is not riding. Apparently had a fractured tibia, probably from a crash in the flece walone but had been riding on it anyway (including the giro). Now that they have x rayed it and confirmed it is fractured, they won't let him ride the TdF.
would certainly be his type of finish tomorrow. I'm sure i remember seeing him win there in leige-bastogne-leige

Edit: ouch @ the video above. It looks so much steeper in first-person than it does watching helicopter shots from races.

Would be glorious to see the WC bands leap away but I don't think he's on top form - TT was rubbish. Can't see past Val'hair'de tomorrow, but would love to see Dan Martin steal it

He's gone from further than that before and won.

He and Renshaw were in a great position to use Lotto to the line and gave it up for reasons that aren't obvious to me to strike out on their own.

That should have been a win. Gutted.

This, that move round the left side was odd in the extreme from a very experienced lead out man. Sagan got a flier in the slipstream, got to be nailed on for green jersey if he stays upright
