Project: Angel

I was going to suggest the aquacomputer! hah!

It'd look lovely in that rig. I'd go for it. You can always swap it out if it's terribly restrictive.

Fan Mod

Got a couple of these to cool the memory down. These will also be going on a fan controller to run silently. They still need braiding but will do this when I get to the mammoth braiding sessions laying ahead of me. I also need to do something about the black thumbscrews.

Aye it's the corsair cooler (and I wudda got away with it, were it not for those pesky kids!).

The fans are changed to the blue ones and it's sprayed up white. It's now much quieter too as a bonus - a simple but effective mod me thinks:cool:.

Oh, I almost forgot to say, I cleaned the rads before spraying them up.

The 'green' bottle was from my own rad which has been used with distilled only for about a year. The Pink ones were from a rad I bought second hand. The first runs with distilled vinegar were left to soak for 12 hours. I know this is not neccesary to get rid of the flux as it's now waterbased but as you can see, after a year or so's use things start to get gunked up again pretty quick, even without additives/dyes!

After the long soak I then flushed the old vinegar out with boiling water a few times and re filled them with clean vinegar again. This time the results were better but not perfect so I repeated the process a few more times until the emerging vineger was clear (last bottle).

I DO NOT recommend doing this yourself as Vinegar is acidic (although in this case about 4.5% iirc) and as such it can eat through metal over long periods of time so be carefull if you plan on cleaning your rads this way. Normally a good flush with hot water is enough but evidently not in my case.

Update

Rads fitted to the case.

Also fitted the rest of the Enermax Clusters to the front (all to be controlled via fan controller). It would be a shame not to power them up wouldn't it?

Must admit, I'm quite taken with this build:cool:.

The fans are silent when the speed is reduced slightly via the fan controllers:). You can here them on full tilt tho but they also move a lot of air.

White is so in at the moment. I'm picking up a case second hand today (yes I'm a poor scrubber) and I fancy giving that a black & white theme too. Love these fans for sure.

I ordered some of those fans the other day (yesterday in fact!) and cant wait for them to get here, they look ace!! Though mine will look considerably less impressive as I will only have 4 in my entire case, one of those pretty much completely hidden lol.

This build just gets better and better :D haha

w3bbo looking very nice :)

I am getting very tempted to by a MM case for my new build...

And I agree with the comments posted about black and white cases they do look really nice..

What is the rpm of the cluster fans your using w3bbo, i love the all white look of them, im currently running sharkoon silent eagle se 400-2000 rpm pwm fans on my TRUE black run of an adapter via the cpu header on my p5q deluxe, the sharkoons are nice, but the enermax clusters are better looking, also could you reccomend a particular white gloss spray paint to match powder coated panels, ill be geting the panels powdercoated by a well known uk company who specialise in case modding and powder coating (cant mention them due to competitor rules) but if you could reccomend a brand that is a good match, id appreciate it very much:)

All paints are different m8. It would be impossible for me to say. 'Go with this brand as it will match'. Speak to the powdercoater, he will be able to give you better advice. Other than that its a case of buying a few different brands until you get one that matches best.

i saw the word 'bitspower' mentioned

that makes me very happy

w3bbo - i know it may be a little late on in the build for you to hear this
but i have a proper i7 dominator cooler if you would like it?

its the two fan model that comes with the 1866 dominator and the dominator gt

just thought it would look a bit better than two dual channel ones side by side [and obviously be less noisey]

i used it on my dominator kit but it has sat in my draw since my last set of memory died

i have the ocz 1866 reaper kit now so it wont fit over the memory because of the large heatpipes
