Project Cars 2 is en route :D

absolutely cant get enough of this game at the moment.

What difficulty you guys running in the Career? I think I'm getting close to a nice setup, 105% AI and 90% Aggression at the moment. Racing is so good, can't wait to get involved in GT classes and multiplayer.

What is up with the back end on the Clio? It's like its got shopping trolley wheels on the back.

I can't seem to do anything in the setup either except lower the pressures on the rears.

A little acceleration when you're braking and don't lift off abruptly, lift off oversteer is very pronounced. You've got to be gentle with her man :)

Am I the only one that can't survive a race due to ****wit noobs? Could be first lap, could be guys I'm lapping.

Honestly, this is ridiculous. I haven't seen this kind of consistent level of clueless bumpercar BS since Forza back in the day on X360.
I know it's a new game and it's brought in a whole load of people that have never set foot in an online race lobby and simply don't get how it works (or are too used to banging with AI), but FFS...

Aaaaaanyway.

Thought there was a licence thing now for online racing ?

Don't worry it's not just you. I got absolutely wrecked tonight three races a row. I was being careful as well.

Either you need to set blistering times in qualifying to get up front out of trouble or you have to stay at the back, let everyone wreck and then sail through the carnage. Your rating will go up then.

So many morons! I thought PC gamers were sensible..guess not.

Starting up front is no guarantee in my experience.
I was on the front row in the last two races. First one at Spa, I get punted out wide at T1/L1 via divebomb by the guy that qualified in third.
The last race at Redbull Ring, I start 2nd and get pit maneuvered on the straight after T1/L1...

As for PC racers being sensible, nah. Maybe in a sweeping generalisation compared to console perhaps.
Even super serious AC has it's fair share of intentional wreckers and people who don't know enough to know that they're not ready to be online with other people yet.

Maybe we look into someone hosting a server, or can we rent one ? I have no idea whats involved tbh. But it would be great to have some decent racing, providing its not like AC with constant GT2's on Spa zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Whereas I am starting to lose my rag with it a bit. Doing the same race as you and I am constantly coming a copper at the 3rd (?) turn on Snetterton...the one after the back straight.
Watching your vid, and the AI, it looks incredibly easy, but I just cannot seem to master it. I have tried entering the corner at the same speed and on the same line as the AI, but when I do that I either:
A) turn in early enough to maintain the line, start to slide, correct and then spin.
B) get around the left hander, but am carrying too much speed for the right hander, so I brake gently...and spin.
C) understeer on the left hander, go wide, hide the grass...and spin.

The only way I seem to be able to get around it safely is to be overly cautious on entry, but then, I can't keep up with the other cars. There's a similar story on the last corner before the finish - a long sweeping right hander that suddenly goes into a sharp left. I can either go around the left fast enough to keep up with other cars, but then the window for braking for the sharp left is so tiny that I invariable spin out as I breath on the brake before being fully straight, or I miss the window and understeer straight off the course. It's really starting to **** me off how the AI seems to be able to fly around these corners without so much as a wag of the tail, yet if I try the same, I end up in a backwards fireball of rage and swearing.

I wouldn't mind so much if I was obviously doing something wrong. But I'm being gentle with my inputs, making sure my tyres are warm, making sure not to lift off abruptly or completely, and following the racing line. I've tried both the Stable and Loose setups...stable is slightly easier, but then I can't seem to make any ground on my opponents. It's really not becoming enjoyable when I spend more time clicking [Restart Session] than I do driving, because I'm constantly spinning off into an unrecoverable oblivion.

I'm just looking into the dedicated server thing, but don't hold your breath. It's a bit of a hassle compared to the GUI used in AC for example.

EDIT
Nope, CBA. Way too much hassle for me.
If anyone's interested, you can download 'project cars 2 dedicated server' via steam>library>tools.
Open the folder you've installed it to and it has instructions in there.

We'd probably be better off organising the odd session and having someone create the server in game.

Those are hard turns to master conscript, slow in fast out, I just try and balance the car in those. I downshift and prepare myself for those corners by entering as straight as I can, it's quite difficult to take a natural racing line through them whilst decelerating and not spinning. I make up the time in other areas and just go gentle on the tricky corners.

What wheel are you using Tony? Watching your cockpit wheel, it looks to me like you are making your steering corrections much quicker than me.
My wheel is quite old, it only rotates through 270 degrees, and there's quite a lot of drag or damping through the motor (https://youtu.be/Ft4gxY8NSVk?t=19m56s) which makes it feel quite hard and slow to turn. I'm beginning to wonder if I'd benefit from a newer wheel setup, as at the moment it feels like I'm not able to catch slides as easily as I'd like; it's also very small.
