Project Cars 2 is en route :D

Anyone play this with a controller? I played the first one on the PlayStation with no issues so hopefully this one will be the same.
yep, played with controller up until Tuesday when I got my first ffb wheel, it plays great with a pad and much better than the first one, don't really have to change the settings much, its less twitchy than the first one with a pad and I was actually better using a pad than I am with my wheel lol

Ah great thanks

I have the T300 599xx, so pretty much the same base as your TX.

In control panel :

Strength - 75%

Constant - 100%

Periodic - 100%

Spring - 0%

Damper - 0%

Auto-Centre - by the game

In PCars2, set it to the raw ffb flavour.

Gain - 100 ( leave this at 100 for all ffb presets )

Volume - 50 ( to start with - this will need to be made higher / lower depending on the car )

Tone 40-50?

Fx 25-50?

There's a couple of other ffb tweaks you can try if you don't like how the above feels after testing it out.

Jack Spade's ffb files are pretty popular, and there's some settings from the DandyHighwayman that make the ffb feel similar to rF1 to me.
Both of these can be found on the PCars2 forum in the tech help section.

My friend and I purchased this today. How does it fare with an Xbox One controller? Also, does it require any configuring for VR? We each own an Oculus Rift headset.

cheers moody.. i had pretty much the same settings but my volume tone and fx were little higher then yours... ive turned them down and it feels so much better now.. ive been using jack spades standard mid FFB settings are the alt mid settings worth playing with?

also what steering/braking/damper settings should i be using.. ive got damper on 0 and rest on 50?

also 900 DOR and i change to 360 for f1 2017!

only had the wheel little over 3 days now so i know its gonna take me while to get half decent at!

The different Jack Spade settings are a matter of preference to be honest :

Standard files - artificial (canned) road noise, moderate bumps/kerbs/grass response
Alternative files - no artificial road noise, more bumps/kerbs/grass response

Easiest thing to do is pick a car you like the feel of & drive it on Oulton Park, Knockhill, Brands Hatch or Fuji. Then try the alt mid file and see if you prefer it.

That's fine afaik. A setting of 50 means linear response iirc.

That's what I was thinking but I'm pretty sure that some of the older cars (group 5, etc) didn't have it.

Check controls -configuration - min shift time Mine is set to 0 and in Grp5 I just max it out in 3rd then shifted down to 2nd, obviously locking the rears. I'm using autoclutch off and h-shifter. I do get restrictions on downshifts on other cars though.

What is it with this game and the online sessions just not doing anything after qualifying.... its so irritating, it just sits there at the waiting screen, you have no idea if its actually doing anything, in the end I give up and have to exit out, frequently the race never starts..

Are any of you getting glowing brake discs in replays and so on under long hard heavy braking..?

I've done quite a few races now in various weather conditions and with brake ducts at various openings front and rear and I'm still not seeing any glowing brake discs under long hard heavy braking, for example the long stop going into the T6 hairpin at Hockenheim no glow, the long stop at Monza going into T1 no glow there either...I find this rather odd.

Anyone else noticed this, the distinct lack of glowing brake discs or is it just me

Just picked this up. Played in vr and recorded some lap times. Played in 2d next and was slower. Slower on lap 10 than on my first try. VR really does make it easier.
