Project Cars 2 is en route :D

Got a problem when iam playing pc2 none of my other devices can access the internet eg phone/tablet, as soon as I quit a race I can access the internet again. Network usage on my pc is at 800kbps when playing pc2. Any ideas why this is happening on this one game?

Assuming your not playing multiplayer in PCS2 can you not just turn your pc's wifi off when you play? prevent it accessing the internet

Ok I just got this and got a G27 to go with it. First time ever using a wheel.

I calibrated the wheel as instructed and no matter what I drive the cars are all over the place, haven't made a successful corner yet lol.

Surely the setup is wrong as there's no way me driving in straight line should be a problem. It goes left I correct it to go right and it goes all over the place. Happens with all cars.

Any help be appreciated.

If anybody is interested in competing in default setup Time Trials, this is really cool.

Mark, who set it up, has written a little PC programme that listens to the UDP feed from Project Cars 2, collects the information and then publishes it to a website. Lots of telemetry to see where you are losing time, even a map of the driving line, so you can see if you are using different lines. It just needs a windows PC, but will pick up the UDP from XB1 and PS4 on the same network as well. Weekly time trials, grouped into 6 week championships. Split into leagues with promotion and demotion to fight over. There is also a handicap so that guys who are slower can compete for race wins. There is even a little chat stream on the website for that little bit of banter...

Really disappointed with the time trial aspect of the game.

1. The leaderboards are rubbish, you can't even view best times by specific car classes such as GT3 etc... instead it lumps every single GT style tin top into the same leaderboard. Apparently this limitation is due to console leaderboards having to be limited to a small amount

2. What idiot thought it was a good idea to make your setups automatically available to everyone else in the world ? Its killed all competitiveness on the leaderboards because no one good does them because they don't want their setups being shared with the entire world. I can do a half decent lap with the default setups and get a world record with relative ease due to the lack of good drivers competing. Just an astonishingly bad decision.

Agree the leaderboards are bit pants, I usually just filter by specific car.

The setups discussion was a requested feature...I download setups because I just don't have a clue what to do to make the cars better. Would I enjoy the game less if I was less competitive because of that? Probably not, because if I was really that bothered about being slower due to car setup I'd invest the time figuring it out... The time trial challenge is default setup so that it's a level playing field, driving ability rather than tuning ability...

The first PC2 we ran was horrible to drive, but it was the same for everyone...

A quick clip of my cornering skills! :p

I'm currently playing in VR, which is fantastic, but it makes joining a friend very difficult because I'm having to revert to my monitor in order to accept or send an invite. I can never find a friend's game via the server browser either, because of the lack of available filters.

Is there a more polished VR racing title on PC? Apparently Assetto Corsa treats VR as an afterthought, with no support for the menus, only the races themselves.

PC2 is probably the most polished VR racing title. The invites use the Steam overlay, which doesn't show up in VR. It's more of a Valve/Oculus issue I expect than one a game developer can tackle...

Yes a while back it might be better now, but it wasn't designed in, and my machine struggled with frame rates. I found if you look at the back of the car sometimes it's just not there so you're just driving the front end of the car lol...

I'm not very good at Rally and I get so little time I only really play PC2 and a bit of AC time trials, the rallyx in PC2 is fun though. You can also stick all-terrain tyrs on anything and go there, I was flogging the lotus 25 around rallyx tracks the other night, so much drifty fun....
