Hmm if the teeth wont work then other than that perhaps the words ' Army ' or ' Marines 'in US white with a US emblem ( roundel with wings i think it was called ) on the side will give it an older feel military wise without going into the realms of gaming.

The planes pictured ( A10 & Typhoon? ) all have a nose to mount the teeth on, as does the cobra and just about any small nosed us helicopter ( AH 64 as well ) which as you have said, you don't

Is there an option to aquire a small sticker(s) of the cobra itself to mount somewhere? This will at least give it the association with what you have built so to speak and combined with larger ' Army/Marine' stickers and US emblem could give the effect you're looking for.

that's pretty much what I was aiming for but with the red for the tongue and gums etc.

not that easy outside of photoshop unfortunatly.

big problem with the stickers is that they kinda curve down towards the edges of the mouth, where as the skeleton cowling curves up.

Design it yourself and have a custom sticker printed? Shouldn't cost much more than a few £'s, and you'll be able to print several samples on ordinary paper to test fit it 1st.

I've decided I like it just how it is, sometimes you can go just a bit too far and all things considered I think the sharks mouth on the cowling or any of my ideas re other graphics might just ruin it.

Excellent work and like somebody else suggested spray the mesh with a bit of drab green in camo pattern and it would set it off.

I think spraying the mesh green would be overkill, you need that black to break up the dullness of the camo green.

You could paint the mouth design onto some clear sticky plastic with acrylic paint? Would be fairly easy. If you got an outline of the shape of the cowling then used photoshop to adjust the design to fit then trace it to the plastic + paint with acrylic?

Dont know if that makes sense but it does to me still think the red would really set it off.

Yeah after looking at it again you are probably right, keep the mesh black, the overall effect is very military though, I think adding the shark mouth would be overkill.
