Project Corsair 900D

I need to replace some of the multi-link fittings, as the low profile ones are leaking a little, and I'm concerned that the pressure will cause them to come looser, and maybe come off. (leak testing could have gone better!)

So I've ordered 8 of the ones with dual 'O' rings rather than the ones I have., hopefully I won't be as worried about them, and hopefully they won't leak ;)

It's only on the parts where it leaves the pump then goes up the side of the res, and across to the blocks.

I did have a bit of excitement when I first started filling the CPU loop, the coolant started coming out of the radiator, and starting draining into the other reservoir... OOOOOOPS!!!!! Didn't take long to resolve that one, but still it was annoying, however I did also see the funny side...)

I didn't however see the funny side of it leaking!

I haven't tested the GPU loop yet, as I had to remove everything to sort out the leaks on the CPU loop.

I'll rebuild it later on this evening.

Drain taps are THE greatest thing EVER for doing a build like this, However I think I'm going to move the one on the GPU loop to the front of the case, so it's lower in the system.

Following a rebuild of both loops I've filled them, and tested them a little, but not for as long as I'd like...

I think the purple needs to be a little deeper, but I want to look at it in the light to be sure!

Just a quick look at the fittings I didn't use:

Though there are 8 Multi-link adapters to come out... and the 2 "O" ring versions to go in.

And the long extension bar will probably go in as well.

I also knew I probably wasn't going to use the 5 rotary "snake" fittings, but they looked awesome and I wanted them!!

And then there are the 2 monsoon fittings I'm using.

(That doesn't include the monsoon fittings I'm using for filling the loop ;) (I really don't need black sparkle for those ones...)

I've seen a YouTube video of someone using RitDye on them, including how to dismantle them etc, but I don't want to void the waranty's until I've used them for a while!

On the subject of youtube, Linus was interviewing a guy from Noctua who was on about releasing different coloured (looked black to me) fans as a Budget model. If that is the case I'll be after a load of them, but does ANYONE actually like the Noctual colour scheme as is?

Hate the colour scheme. Absolutely disgusting. I posted a thread in the general hardware (which was removed i think) and the cooling section for the black noctuas.
Not sure if theyll be the budget version. Some are stating it is but the rep Linus was talking to said they were better then the current fan versions.

the Noctua colour scheme is very clever as it is SO distinctive

whenever you see those colours you know it is a top end fan - and for that exact reason - i dont think they should change them

and anyway, i sprayed mine with black spray paint - took 30mins and they look great :)

Noctua recommend that you don't spray them, as the paint disrupts the air flow (maybe slightly, but probably a very minimal effect!)

I knew I needed to do something with them, even before I bought them, the colours don't go with ANYTHING (other than Cream and Brown...)

But who actually cares about them looking like top end fans? You know you bought top end fans and they work great so isnt that it?
Changing the colour scheme for Noctua would definitely improve their sales.

I paniced for a second there and assumed you were talking about mine... (Thinking that was a little harsh! (then i read up a bit)

That there is the dogs danglies of a build amazing quality and detail :)

Thank you

Haha. Sorry about the shock. Love the colour scheme of your build! Unique, never seen those colours being used! Cant wait to see the final outcome!
Youre really swaying me towards getting this instead of the TJ07

i've checked in the others boxes and the same :(

Funnily enough, I've looked through all the pictures I've posted and you can't see them due to the angles... Sorry!

Saturday should be "boot" day...

I had to order the multi-links from the Netherlands again, and it's a 3 day turn around... But they were shipped today, so I hold out hope!!!

This evenings update:

I managed to figure out why my GPU loop wasn't bleeding properly...

I'd been running the pump on my system (as shown near the start of the build) and it was set to 25% speed... so it didn't have the pressure required to get the bubbles etc out of the loop... OOOPS!

Well I hooked up the USB cable to the back of the D5 then realised that I still can't boot my PC... grrrrr...

Fortunately I bought a card reader a while back which I had to buy a 5pin USB to USB male.
I installed Aquasuite on my Laptop, and plugged in the D5 then started up the pump.
Everything all popped up, so I rammed the pump speed up to 100% and it cleared out the bubbles in no time!

Following this discovery I connected up all my fans using the nice Noctua "Y" cables they provide. This was then connected to the PWM fan header on the Aquaero 5 (yes that's right 10 NF-F12's on a single PWM header.
Then I connected the 2 Scythe GT's I have mounted in the front
(That reminds me, I forgot to take a shot of that:

)
to fans headers 1 & 2, and the 140mm fan to the 3rd fan header.

And powered on my spare PSU to boot it up.

On a minor note, I almost hit my bandwidth cap for the month on my image hosting site... 7.6gb out of 10gb (it's a good job it resets tomorrow)

Ok now

Question time:

Should I install some LEDs? I haven't made a decision about this yet, so I'm looking for suggestions...
