Project GreenGasm

So very close I'm tempted to say yes.

I also ordered some braided sata cables which arrived in the same packet... but I ordered straight connectors on both ends of the cables and he's sent me straight one end and 90 degree on the other end... so due to the type of hdd mount in this case, I can't use them :(

Going to get replacements and add them in... but I'm pretty happy with where it is now.

Only three little imperfections I would like to fix.

The left res is a little wonky... I managed to get the holes a little off and don't fancy redrilling again until the next time I drain the loop.

The bottom GPU is sagging a little... can't tell if it's weight or the connector between the two cards is a little too long and pushing them apart.

And the tube that goes into the top of the left res is a few degrees off horizontal... again, I won't do that until it's next time to drain the loop... which map not be until the fluid actually needs changing in a year or so.

Stunning. That UV lighting on the cables is amazing too. It goes from being green and white to riddle me this.

Fair play, that looks absolutely stunning with the UV lighting. Wouldn't want to carry it through customs though... :D

Nice work mate, seems like i'll have to step up my game in my new build :D

How did you find that new monsoon custom kit - did you get the matching pump housing or?

Hehe... paid someone to do that for me... got meself a mule ;)

Went through without any complaints or charges too... :D

Nope, I have the EK dual D5 pump... the one with 2x pumps stuck together in serial and so the housings wouldn't fit... plus it's hidden away in the basement so not visible.

I quite like the look of the Monsoon custom kits and I love that they have mounts for cathodes built into the mounting mechanism for the reservoirs which really makes the coolant glow fantastically in the dark... very bright glow which is great.

But honestly... I wouldn't buy them again.

One of them was leaky... although that can happen with any and it was fixed... so not the end of the world, just a little annoying and could have been isolated to me as just an unlucky one.

The main reason I wouldn't buy again is the plastic used... it's so soft fittings were easily able to round out the plastic and dig it out like I was using a drill.

I've used the same fittings on EK plastic and it's so much stronger I didn't even contemplate I might have that issue with EK stuff... I really don't like the quality of the plastic used at all.

But... I still like the look :)

It looks great! Is it stable?

I think I might have compatibility issues with my Dominators. I noticed the ones I have, 32GB 3200MHz, are not on the Qualified Vendor List for ASUS R5E10.

So far so good, it's the latest 3200 14-16-16 special edition kit... booted straight into XMP at 1.35v no problem and i've been playing BF1 for the last two hours with no problems.

I'm about to push it to 1t but not going to tweak much more til the weekend.

I don't think either my last kit or this new one are on the QVL because they're too new. Might simply be the same with your kit... any kit rated at 3200MHz or less will work with this motherboard no problem... it's only higher kits that could have issues, but then you just downclock them to 3200/3400

I was just going to post "That red ram though...." and then you replaced it :D

Love it.

Thanks :)

14-14-14-36-1T @ 1.35v feeling OK... but haven't spent long with it :p

Can usually tell when you've push a kit too far as it feels jittery and sluggish when it shouldn't.

Looking nice. Like the white to purple on the cable sleeving.
A black version of the Platform Dom's? But people will think manufacturers are starting to listen to what people want! ;) Nice timings on that kit too.
If you are going to straighten the res, I can recommend a Dremel with a double-cut tungsten carbide bit to turn the hole into a slot...cos obviously I got all my holes bang-on in the right place! *cough*
Does create some swarf though. You SHOULD remove everything from the case and then thoroughly hoover it so nothing shorts out expensive things. I got away with masking-taping a plastic coffee cup lid over the hole and using masking tape like a wall with the sticky side facing the hole and then hoovering thoroughly...but this is clearly risky, irresponsible and shouldn't be done :D

With XMP I thought it wasn't really possible to 'push it too far'? Nice job on the green machine ;)

Yeah - the black plat doms with the white lights are what made me want them :) Glad they didn't just release the chrome edition.

Good tip for the hole, thanks... I'll get round to that whenever I next change the fluid. It's a little annoying but not enough to constantly **** me off :)

With XMP it shouldn't be, no.

But I was just pushing it past XMP settings already :p

XMP settings for this RAM is:

3200MHz @ 14-16-16-36-2T @ 1.35v

Usually there's a bit of wiggle room at stock volts... so I pushed that straight to 14-14-14-36-1T @ 1.35v

Considering these timings... I think I'll easily be able to run comfortably at 13-13-13-1T, if not even get some 12s in there at 1.5v

Just felt like playing last night rather than tweaking with being up early for work... probably fiddle at the weekend.
