PROJECT: MAGNUS AQUA DOMUS!

I'll have a look after top gear mate as I still need to tune the base and memory (sat at ~1700mhz C9 atm). May even drop down to 100 base on 1.25x to get the memory in line first.

At full 12v, 6 of them, its pretty loud but they are shifting a fair amount of air, I have them either off or at around 1000 rpm which is near silent, just the noise of moving air :)

A steal at £3 each imo.

Found a leak on a compression on the bottom rad, if I can't clamp the hoses off to sort it I'll have to drain :(

Lighting is going to be the final phase.

Looking back I'm not overly happy with it as it stands so may change some bits sooner rather then later:

  • Clear tubing (tygon) with pastel fluid
  • PSU down to the bottom, 360 on midplate
  • New 140mm fans (something with LED's)
  • Lighting!!
  • Acrylic plates

If I could budget it (I can't) I'd perhaps drop the 2 x 360's in favour of 2 x 400 (200.2) radiators too.

Wow, after being away for the weekend, and I find this chugging away like the clappers is awesome! I would go with clear tubing and coloured fluid imo.

I'm on the case ;)

Money no probs, i'd say a couple of custom radiators would look good in there, something that fills the available space nicely.

To fill the case you would need the radiators I mentioned (the 400's). Though only available at ~30mm thickness.

Awesome build, thanks for the advice block ordered!!(got the last one phew!)

No worries bud :)

THINK I'm decided on how I'm taking this forward, basically, PSU dropped to the bottom compartment, 360 rad on midplate and hopefully something special covering, well, everything, I don't want any of the back exposed including the excess motherboard tray.

I may have dropped them an email

No reply yet though I expect they are rather busy with their new following.

The alphacool plate they did on their build log really sold me :D

They are designed for wc, its a no brainer if you want sff and a fair amount of radiator :)

Quite glad they showed up, a breath of fresh air in a quite drab case market.

Got 1250/1700 fairly easily the other night :)

Modded trixx is being a pita so once I have the memory sorted I'll try flashing the asus bios to get 1.4v from gpu tweak :)

Trixx can be good, many use it as it has extended voltage ranges for ref 7970's, sometimes it works sometimes it just flakes out and causes a driver crash! I'll have a better clock at the weekend, still getting my sammy green issues sorted.

Yep if over volting push the slider to +20%

Ah well, I need to get this loop open next weekend and get some bits sorted, just had an hour on Hitman Absolution, temps spiked up to 50c on each GPU, I think I have a flow issue somewhere :(

I can't actually see any fluid moving, if it is, its moving very very slowly.

Yep, they do a full plexi version that looks epic with coloured fluid, shame they are quite hard to source in the UK and ain't cheap :(

Might just get another alphacool plexi top and glue em together :p

Might drop a little food colouring in my res later today to see just how bad the flow is.

It's not closed but I'd presume staff numbers are lower at the weekend so you may not get a reply until Monday, if it's urgent, phone them :)

Nah wouldn't have thought so just enough to see if fluid is being pulled from the res in meaningful quantities or not, a drop should show me that.

Yeah that's what I saw, £100-ish for the top then another £55 on a second pump.

I've sent the seller a message, hopefully I'll find out sooner rather then later, though I have another in the pipline complete with plexi alphacool top should I require it :)

Hopefully will be even nicer once I'm done jigging everything about, going to be another £100+ to change it, but I feel it will be worth it :)

Mayhems Pastel Sunset Yellow (3 of)
3Meters of tubing
second pump (ordered)
cable extensions
Cover panel

Speaking of the cover panel, anyone know of any places that can do me some made to measure cuts? Just in case my first choice is too busy :)

Going to measure it up tomorrow, need to align cutouts for cables and for the 1080 tube routing.

and hmm, cable braiding...maybe...

Edit: Found a schematic of the case from Phobya's documentation complete with size break downs for everything on the inside, should be reeeeallly easy to get that plate made up now

Will also use this picture to show how everything will be laid out.

Little update!

I'm holding off taking the loop apart just now as I'm still waiting to hear back from some places about getting a cover panel fabricated :)

Once the panel is sorted then everything else can be, for now I still have to make a cut in the midplate for my cable management plan.

I've also enquired about a window for the case and some lighting clusters for the fans.

Just treated myself to a 1440p monitor too :D
