Received my CM Storm MECH last weekend and started working on some ideas to help match it up to my current build style, mostly carbon lol

heres how it looked when new, and directly below is one of the designs i deiced to use, wasn't too hard and didn't take long to complete

when i recover from my opp i might work on a second design involving a lot more air brushing

The aluminum shell comes of very easily with the provided allen key, perfect for modding :)

This was another idea i had, but was very time consuming to get this far (5%), would have taken too long to complete so i decided to try some other ideas.

some more messing with ideas, looks a mess because i was using it for a brain storm.

Removed ready to start again, this time with my original idea

The final design, hard to capture the effect on camera because of the 4D, but hopefully when i do a YouTube vid you will see it better

Love looking at this build! Such creativeness! I really like the carbon fibre wrapping!!

Thanks Furyus, yeah the wrap is great and a lot less messy than paint ;)
but i am tempted to do some air brushing, if not on this build maybe in the future.

That carbon wrap is sick!
And i still have some more to wrap :D

That is an awesome looking keyboard, That's the way it should look when it leaves the factory!

Yeah, great idea to use a removable plate
even better when you wrap before painting because its easy to remove it when you fancy a change without needing to use paint remover and sanding papers :D

i got the matching headset & mouse also, wrapped the mouse but not painted yet, not started on headset and not sure if i will be wrapping and painting it ????

This.

Amazing stuff here

Thanks :)

Is there no end to your creativity and skill - superb.

Mark

Thanks again Mark ;)
Even my wife has started to take a interest in my desk after a trip to the gadget show,
though she would hate the show and all the gadgets but she was like a new woman after lol

she also spent all the money, i got nothing :(

Here's a picture of what they looked like at the start apart from the Keyboard that i had already painted when i took this pic

The mouse to go with the headset and MECH, only wrapped it in carbon ATM, but will most likely paint it when i get out of hospital

I cut the mouse mat down to a size that worked best for me and has the same shape/light as the keyboard & mouse.

Thanks for all the comments guys, i will update you asap and reply properly as soon as i feel a bit better, just got back from hospital and im in some pain still :(

Love it so much!

how much to build me one then? hehe

:D the cost is a bit hard to put a figure on due to using old bits, at a guess i would think its about £150/200 if you was to buy all the wood and glass from new.
maybe when im back on my feet again i will build another with parts from the DIY shop and then i will have a better idea on costs.

The carbon look is amazing, how many hours has it taken so far?

this is also very hard to give a answer to, i started in November last year and from the time i started until now iv had lots of health problems that's put things on hold, iv been on crutches from day one so that's slowed everything down mainly because i cant move and carry things at the same time :(
If i was to do it again with all i have learnt from this build and in full health i think i could do it in 4 weeks or so, that's with normal family life and if i was not working.

things was also put on hold 2 or 3 times as i waited for items to arrive, next time i will get all i need at the start ;)

Absolutely love all those finishing touches - keyboard and mouse especially! Bravo!

Thanks, the keyboard looked ok to start with, but just like my last one i had to do something to it lol
im sure i will do more designs at a later date ;)
the mouse took me 5 miniuets to cover but not airbrushed it yet though

What a build!!! Massive Kudos to ya Deblow.

Not had any Kudos for many years so Thanks! :D

Hope the operation went well for you - sorry to hear about the pain you are in, but I suppose that was to an extent inevitable. Perhaps you should take it easy for a while and let the body get over the shock.

Nice to see you are back with us though. :)

Mark

op went well Mark and thanks for asking, iv had no choice but to take it easy the last week as iv had no energy or brain power to do anything lol
I will definitely get the final photos up by the weekend as everything that's important is done now :)

It is truly fantastic and you had me wanting to transfer my own uv green thing (with a couple of updates) into a custom built desk until I realised I have nowhere to put one :D

Have some more kudos cos you deserve it mate :)

Thanks Pete, love your build :)

I will be uploading final build pics today, but im going to start with some small displays showing important info.
The 1st is my tablet showing all PC info i will ever need i.e Volts,Temp,Usage,RAM and so on

IMG_4024_zps24caa369.jpg

and again the same program but with my custom info display, CORE tems for CPU & GPU's

IMG_4021_zpsa270a418.jpg

And last of all the desk fan controller (only for desk fans not the RADs) the temp are showing desk temps and Room temps only.
I don't trust them from reading CPU/GPU temps but work perfect for room temps

IMG_4022_zps4d62e228.jpg

With RGB LED's you can have almost any color you want, its hard to show how it really looks in photos so i have taken 100s of photos lol
I wont spam the forums with them all but i will add them to my facebook page and give links in my last post.

The RES, Some show the LEDs at low setting and others are at MAX.

IMG_3960s_zps9ec577c7.jpg~original

and some night shots of the desk with the same LED settings, I like the white but as im typing this update its all set to green :)

IMG_s3784_zpsfc2e3361.jpg~original

in this photo you can see the cover i made from fake leather, with all the LEDs off and the cover on the desk is 100% blacked out apart from the power, reset and LED switches

Forgot to show my lower shelf's in previous updates so here they are,
4 in total 2 per side, the upper right side holds my Sub & 2nd pc and all the others will hold my consoles.
all carpeted with the same type used in cars & car subs (Black) and all with LED lighting controlled independently.
