Project: Rad In Mi Kitchen

I chose not to powder coat, I think the finished product will look nice this way. And the bay res will look good, I'll put a blue led behind it, and I might put one of the supplied faceplates onto it ;)

Like I said, it's all down to personal preference at the end of the day, each to their own, I just can't stand bare alu internals, I also think that all these high end case manufacturers should start coating the inside of their cases in the factory because it costs a bloody arm and a leg to get it powder coated....

Cylinder reservoirs always look a lot nicer than bay res's imo, but again it's all about personal preference.

I think that you can get cleaner tubing runs with a cylinder res (EK 250 is what I have) than you can with a bay res, though that's just my opinion, there's loads of folk out there that would completely disagree with me regarding this.

::edit::

One last thing I forgot to say mate, but that Scythe Kaze fan controllers are pap, I've recently replaced my Kaze with a Lamptron FC5 because within the first 2 months of owning the Kaze 3 out of the 4 channels died on me... maybe I was just unlucky with my particular Kaze, but the Lamptron FC5 looks and performs way better than the Kaze ever did.

Got to say that I prefer the look of bay res's :)

Also great looking build Centurion. If you have loose fitting tubing than you could try heating the tubing in hot water to make it a bit more malleable and squeezing it onto the barb, it might shrink it slightly.

If I ever went with watercooling I'd have to use the fasteners, I don't think I could take knowing that all that tubing was just being held on by tightness and a bit of luck :o

EDIT: On the subject of fan controllers, I used to have one but I found that I never bothered changing it from the lowest fan speed except for when testing overclocks and even then I didn't really have to, it was more of a safety thing. I've since gotten rid of it and have just modded the cable connectors so that they're all running on the 5V line instead of 12V and it works a treat. My case is an Antec 300 with all fans installed so it's got great airflow anyway, I assume yours does too :)

Thanks for the words guys. Keeps me motivated :)

I've had to take the mobo tray out again, so here's a pic of how it's looking atm

I plugged the fan controller into the molex of my other pc, and the fans look really stunning, especially in the night. I don't have a night pic right now, but I'll take one at some point.

I got some new shiny in the post, which should help me finish off the build :D

Newsflash

I've just started bleeding the system

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

It's been going for about 10 mins, still lots of small air bubbles, the cm air bubbles have gone, now it's just the mm sized ones.

About time, I have been on tender hooks all day.

Just hope you have 'jumped' your PSU or using your 'old' computer thats next to it.
How long are you going to leak test for?

I don't know how long I'm going to leak test for. Probably 24 hours or so. Thanks for all your help mate :D

I'm using my old pc to power the pump, saves me jumping the psu.

Oh and the D5 pump is pretty loud on setting 4, louder than I expected in fact. But to change it now would require so much hassle that I'd rather just bear the noise.

With the loop you are running, setting 2 would have done the job ;)

As for the noise, that could be the air. As it bleeds it should get quieter.
Is the noise more of a gurgle?

I was told that running it on a higher setting would make it bleed quicker :o

It's a slight gurgle, but mainly a rotational sort of sound, sorry I'm not sure how to put it. Let's just say it generally sounds how I expected it to ;)

Oh and: did anyone get the reference of the name of this project?

You being a UB40 fan may give the game away?

As for bleeding, you want that 'gurgle' noise to stop. You may have to move the case around to encourage the air to come out.
Remember not to run the res dry.

:cool:The rotary fitting on the barb:

The gpu is seated nicely with no kinks.

I've connected the pump to my old pc :)

Notice the bubbles? :D

More bubbles

The res is bubbling away

I'm a bit concerned though, there's still a lot of bubbles. Most of them are moving, but there's about 50 that are just sitting there in the tubing. will these go?

You were right piggin, UB40 :p

The only problem is, I can't remember a song by UB40 about high spec water cooled PC's ;)

As for the air in the pipes, just let it run & it will make its way back to the res.
You may have to turn the pump on & off a few times to encourage it to move.
