Project Whurple - White/Purple Watercooled Build - Changes to 3d printer build!!

Couple more pictures of the build, this is my first watercooled build since I was 16 so 20 years or so ago. Let me know if there is anything that stands out as wrong :)

Right now I am just getting everything into position and all mocked up. Ill tear it all down after that, paint what I want to paint and then put it all back together.

Looks nice mate though am on phone so pics come up small and zoom only shows tiny area at a time
Little unusual the cpu in let and out aren't side by side
But guessing as there's some sort of label on it you correctly orientated it
Does the flow meter light up too?

No i dont think the flow meter does. The pump does, the res does, the block does.

Cpu inlet is at the bottom and outlet at the top. Turns out you cannot have a rad in the top of this case, as the fans are a fair way from clearing the memory. Right now im thinking of it looking like this:

Might try the top again just to be sure im not being a noob

It's looking fantastic so far! Appreciate how the AMD logo is peeking through between the rad and the res.

I had to wire up all of the RGB :)

I took the whole thing apart and there is no way it will clear the ram in any way having the radiator at the top.

Unless you're doing tight bends, you don't really need mandrels. Use the corner of your desk as a guide for 90 degree angles. Silicon insert is essential though.

Got the bykski ones for the size tube im using for £11 on ebay and a silicon insert for £4. Should be here in the next few days. No point carrying on without the insert it seems. Im going to have a valve out of the back panel of the case where I can drain the loop which will come out of the bottom of the flow meter down into where the power supply is. No real issue with this is there?

Ohh the white RGB looks really clean actually! Really like the way the helix and CPU block are lit up too!

Question though, will you be integrating RGB into the desk?

Of course the rear of the monitor and desk will have it the same way mine has. :)

So I set myself up with the msi as it suits my build more I think and also got the model O set up. I like it:

Just tidying up the other side of the room now ready for these bits to go in.

thats where i would have put drain valve too

Good news as there isn't anywhere else to put it.

That's a fine looking battlestation you've got there!

Her desk is going to be a full meter shorter than mine so i'm not sure how this will all work but i'm sure ill work it all out when the desk gets here. This is my office and the pc is more geared for other tasks than out and out gaming. Nobody picked a threadripper as an out and out gaming cpu but it does just fine.

I just check the thread daily as Vince is steam rolling through this project!
We are cracking along and there will be some more tomorrow some things are drying so I will hopefully get it assembled and ready for the other bits to arrive. Do a few of the other clean up jobs tomorrow and it should be good to go next week.

ergh something went wrong with some of the paint... looks like ill need to start again on some of it :(

I also just bought HL:Alyx so we might slow down a bit for a few days :D

 How wrong?! Do we get to see? Heheh

Oh nice! I was watching a video of Linus reviewing a bunch of the VR and minimum setup for running it. What gear you going with?

Also it looks like there is barely any difference between the quality settings, except you just get more FPS and smoothness. Let us know how you like it! Cheers

Ill be playing it on my machine which is TR 1950x, 64gb ddr4 3466, radeon 7, Rift S.

And you don't get to see how wrong i'm afraid, i have already wet sanded it all back and given it some love. It is just drying now but second attempt looks good.

White res... you see im finding stuff to do for the sake of finding stuff to do now. Radiator to be swapped with a white one as cant be bothered to spray it... then pipes then I think I may be almost done.

What are you changing your mind about with the fluid? The whole thing looks awesome, don't think you can go wrong right?

We're still waiting for the special tape and desk right? Are you still planning on doing the corsair logo on the front of the case?

I'm waiting on a desk, 2 chairs, tube silicon bendy thing, bendy template things, fine line masking tape, white rad and thats about the lot. Im not sure coolant wise if I just go purple or go pastel purple or get Auora mix.... I just dunno, it is a minefield.

Looks great
White res caps set off the helix nicely
Still want something artistic on front
Of the psu shroud :D:D

If the shroud wasn't rivited in I would do something with it but sadly it is and im just too lazy. Remember we are on the "what can you build for cheap" vibe still so we need to be sensible ish with time as well :) I have been decorating all day though and the office is ready for the rest to turn up now.
