Protein Shakes

So I don't need one with my breakfast then?

I would yes. I have protein and oats in the morning.

I don't think you can go far wrong with morning, pre-workout, post-workout, night.

Well someone really hates me up on high...

Went into kitchen to use blender. Got out 50g of oats, 50g of whey, put in some skimmed milk, chocolate powder, and then plugged in the blender... reaching for the lid as I did so.

Now ordinarily the blender would be off, but some really clever person before me had left it on and turned it off using the socket switch. The moment the plug went in the blender, the blender roared into life. Cue oats, whey, and milk all over my ****** kitchen. I was so angry and frustrated I actually did a Darth Vader style cry of despair, then have just spent the last 20 minutes cleaning it off of the floor, the surfaces, my cupboards, lights, and all of the clean dishes that were washed up yesterday.

*sobs*

Ouch.

Happens to the best of them believe me. I remember a mate sticking everything into his shaker and shaking in his kitchen and the lid was loose and it went everywhere, so he cleaned it up and made another shake. He left the kitchen and began walking up the stairs and shook the shaker with the new shake in and guess what, the lid was loose again. Bang, everywhere. Twice.

Sounds like an art to making these

In the morning I will dump 40g whey, 40g oats.

I'm thinking how much semi skimmed milk & chocolate nesquik?

In the blender yep?

edit......is skimmed milk better than semi?

I don't think I like skimmed anyway.

Jeez, you guys weren't kidding when you mentioned about natural gas emissions increasing in quantity, taste and texture! Having to sleep in the other room from our lass as it gets a bit whiffy overnight.

At least you've still got a missus... :p

Just tell her it'll get better as your body adapts.

Yeah I go through periods of utter foulness... but what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. In fact I quite like the smell now.

It's not a nice smell...

I have an almost child-like fascination with my own farts, and over the years i've come to love them no matter how pungent. It's an acquired taste... uhh smell.

For after workout, use water. This is so the protien is absorbed quicker into the system.

For before bed, use milk, preferbly full fat as itll slow down the absorption rate for during the night.

If your cutting though, then you need to decide if you can afford the extra calories from milk.
