PS4 and Xbox Rumours

Don't expect too many games. I think it's already been said that today is mainly focusing on hardware and features, and E3 will be focusing on the games.

It's pretty much confirmed that we're seeing next-gen Fifa, Forza 5 and COD: Ghosts.

I'm willing to bet Microsoft are going to knock it out of the park tonight. Strong hardware specs, seriously impressive update to Kinect, hopefully Illumiroom has a convincing show.

The new controller will undoubtedly be a further refinement of the existing controller - the best one already.

Integration with Windows 8 and possible TV (HDMI in/out) will hopefully make it a well integrated media hub device.

Can't see any downside the this imo.

3 as in:

The Leading Football game

The 2nd biggest Console Sim racing game.

The leading FPS brand.

They're HUGE titles.

It's probably the first console sim racing game. GT was awful this year and even 4 wasn't great. Forza is a really good title.

Everyone knows CoD and FIFA are going to be multi-platform though, and for those who don't care about either it's not a big a selling point as you are making it out to be.

What will matter, is the actual hardware and how well it integrates with other devices in the home and if there are any exclusive new IPs on the horizon.

I'm not disputing that, but the point still stands.

Personally I'd rather see what exclusives MS have than the mass-appeal 'brands', but that'll be left for E3 I imagine.

With Mclaren dropping hints. Will we get a glimpse of the P1 in FM5 or is it PGR5?
T10's usual 2 year Forza development is turning this winter so would be in time for the new console. On the other hand we know PGR5 is coming and you'd expect it to be a launch title just as PGR3 was so popular.
I do not see them launching both racing titles together at launch though.

Whats your guess?

GT5 has outsold the whole Forza catalogue, so no - it's definitely 2nd!

They are 3 huge titles to associate with the new Xbox right away.

The point is that Sony should have had these huge "non-exclusive" games to show for their console. They didn't... who's to say why, but just maybe it's because the developers / publishers prefer what Microsoft have to offer! ;)

I dont get this myself, unless its an exclusive (timed or whatever) why waste time at your event advertising a game thats going to be on other competiting platforms?

Are gamers that dim that they make an unbreakable association that because its shown on a particular console it will only be on that one (even though the previous million in the series havent been) or will play best on that platform? Got to be pretty special to conclude something like that...

Kudos to EA and Activision by saving a mass of marketing money ;). Though its not like they wont sticker everyones granny with posters of those aforementioned games :p
Glad MS are doing there's at a reasonable time!
Indeed - I cant see myself staying up for the Sony one, it will all be at E3 anyhow, ooo a plastic shell - amazeballs :/

ps3ud0

Why would it be a waste of time? MS want people to buy their console to play Fifa and COD etc.

I think it's more likely to do with the fact that at the Sony conference it was only the PS4 announced, and these next gen multiplat games had to stay hidden due to the fact Microsoft wanted everything kept secret regarding the Nextbox and they couldn't announce one without the other.

Developers have only had good things to say about the PS4 and there have been rumours of Microsoft restricting developers much more than Sony, so it doesn't make sense that they would prefer Microsoft in that case.

It's marketing. MS have always been top when it comes to that, look at the number of games that launch with Xbox-exclusive (or timed exclusive) DLC, or multi-platform ads that have the Xbox logo at the end. Sony simply don't have the same sort of advertising presence.

By showing off CoD and FIFA tonight, they're pulling in people who aren't just interested in the new Xbox, but people who are interested in those two games as well.

I'm pretty sure they'd have simply announced "For next-gen consoles"...
