PS4 and Xbox Rumours

I think Microsoft are aware of how much people like the 360 controller as it is, would be surprised if it changed as much like the Dukes did.

Hopefully the battery lump on the back is gone this time around, the 360 controller is very comfortable but the wired version is just a bit better as my fingers aren't pressed up against the battery pack.

I do vastly prefer my wired 360 controller to my wireless one, they could probably shrink it like the DS3 but I guess that would mean giving up the AA battery pack and removable charging pack (or maybe they could decrease the size of the latter too).

Why would it be a waste of time? MS want people to buy their console to play Fifa and COD etc.

I think he's also maybe getting at that I'm sure microsoft would have paid them to turn up at there event and have that brand association with xbox. to me it does seem silly. if it comes out on both. which they will. what does it matter. the only person this might work on is the mass consumer but they're not going to be watching a stream any way

I heard it was 6pm American central time? So something like 2am here?

Kinda bad timing for Microsoft, given the nation is in utter shock over the Moore tornado. It's going to be taking away all the limelight from the event. It'll almost see no news coverage, as everyone and everything is focusing on finding as many survivors from the disaster site.

Ha, tell that to the BBC.

Last night they showed a brief clip stating that there was a tornado and a school had disappeared, and then they immediately flicked to the UK weather where the presenter immediately sadly declared "oh no, we're got some light drizzle..."

I did wonder if they'd cancel it, however there is an argument that it's probably unfeasible for them to do it at such short notice, and in some respects, life must go on in general no matter how tragic.

Hopefully they acknowledge what's happened at the start of the event though in some way, that would be nice.

Normally a Playstation guy, but I am uber excited for this reveal. I felt, somewhat let down by the PS4 reveal, and almost everyone I know plays xbox now instead. This might just be the gen I switch allegiance. Alas, I must wait until about 10pm to watch it as I will be in work! Can someone link me a replay after it ends? Or will the Xbox Live Events Web Player have a recorded version?

But im hoping they are going to drop the utterly ridiculous live pricing and make it free like playstation and then have the plus model on top. You should not have to pay a subscription to play multiplayer.
Never in a million years will that happen. Their business model now depends on it.

I'm guessing that's what they'll do, just make a heartfelt announcement mentioning the disaster.. But at the end of the day, no one is going to give a hoot about the next xbox when children have died. Perhaps in other countries, but in the USA, when they're dealing with a tragedy & mourning at the moment, its not good timing for Microsoft.

You really believe that?

I'm sure it'll be business as usual for the vast population of America. It may be deemed insensitive, but strangers usually don't give a hoot if they are unaffected.

With todays 21st century media it won't matter.

All of the gaming / technology blogs and website won't cover news stories like that.

If you go to the mainstream news, yes the tornado will take front cover, but the reveal of a new games console is hardly going to dominate world news. It will warrant a brief mention in the technology section at the end of the 6 o clock news whether there was a tornado or not.

agreed.

The vast majority of the target audience for an event like this won't be glued to CNN with tears streaming down their cheeks unable to take notice of anything else.

Well if it doesnt change its certainly something I would need to think about unless they have many new features to make it worth paying for. At the moment its not in the slightest bit worth it. we will need to wait and see.

With Microsoft now owning Skype, there's bound to be some kind of on-screen video chat thing going on whilst you're playing.

6pm on Xbox.com? Or best watching via 3rd party coverage like ign etc?

Call me shallow but I'm most interested in specs, launch day games are almost alway crap anyway. I want to know how many flippityflops this thing has!!
