BK monos you mean?

Can you get four subs in there?

Highly recommended an antimode BTW

Coming along nicely, living the dream

Two of these next year I think... yeah hopefully should have it mostly done by COP Sunday

All that glazing must have been pricey, I wonder why you want so much natural light getting into a dedicated cinema room?

Very impressive work BTW, next year I'm considering a "buried shipping container" route ;)

Cheers man, yeah it's a lot of work... and I'm so tired but near the end of the major stuff... come tomorrow night, in theory speakers could be in and all electrics and painting complete... sliding doors up (well one, as the other one get delivered Monday)... so I'll be able to concentrate then... curtains and blinds up etc... and all of a sudden it'll look like a room lol

I'll be honest mate, as for the natural light... it's also got to fit with the front of the house, if I'd bricked those garage doors up it would've looked appalling from the exterior, and ultimatly I didn't want to spoil the asthetic of the house. Also, there'll be double thick curtains going up and next year bloc blinds going in as well. I wanted to be able to use that room in the day as well, kinda like when Olympics is on... Wimbledon and sporting event and be able to see my nice front gardens so although yeah t's a cinema room, it's not a cinema room if we really look at it,... I just want it to be a nice place to sit as well in the day with a brew :)

The actual franch doors are big, they're 2070mmx2040mm give or take and I got them both done by the guys who did my whole house 4 years ago... but think they absolutely make the room in the daytime... so it's one of those... If I was doing a 100% dedicated cinema room, I'd have been spending around 3k on insulations to get it 100% sound proofed and all sorts... and it'll be the black hole of calcuter in the day and that would've bugged me... at night when I'm watching films it'll be as black as black can be... I tend to not watch films in the day anyway as working all day so. By the time Summer comes... it'll be blacked out with specialist blinds... for the winter it don't matter as it's dark by 4:30pm anyway and where we live there is NO natural light, it's picth black outside.

As for your container route, that's mad because sure I seen a thread on that somewhere, can't remember if that was you or not? If not, I'll try and dig it out... seen it about a week or two ago.

Right, well today, was time to put the PJ Screen together and get it on the wall and have to say, what a great piece of kit. Had it assembled in an hour and up on the wall an hour later... had to be careful on the positioning due to the limit on my horizontal shift due to the PJ being basically slapped onto teh ceiling... so... setup not properly... literally got extensions all over the shop just to test of the cabling and all works thank god... even managed to knock up a Xmas tree for the cinema room at 2am last night...

So, tomorrow is: Finished painting, put speaker brackets on the walls and attach speakers, assemble my hifi rack, finish electrics, fix boiler, replace RCA box and fit all sockets to the walls, fit curtains and blinds... and in theory I could be sitting watching my first film tomorrow night! Sunday is gonna be one busy day!!!

Looks great but I have no idea how you could keep that ancient boiler. Guess your money is better spent on a cinema mind lol.
Exactly this, old boilers last tbh, I've gota combi boiler in other house and nothing but problem, 3 PCB boards in 10 years, pressure problems, absolute garbage... this just works and works and this si the first problem we've had with it in 8 years since moving in so... will be nicely tucked away soon... I'll wait until it goes before switching it out for a new one.

I think my issue would have been that its existence is ruining a nice square room. Id want it moved just to stop it annoying me .

Ahhh right yeah, well tbh there is no where for it, in the rest of the house, also, I've got plans for that corner of the room as well and it'll make a lovely base, trust me, when finished you'll see what I mean, don't get me wrong, if I'd have had more money I'd have contemplated it, however the house just doesn't have a place for it so it's to try and incorporate it into the place it's lived it life the best way... so even when replacing it in the future, it'll probably stay where it is, tucked away in it's cupboard lol

Fair enough. Hopefully it doesn't bother you when you're in the midst of a quiet tense movie moment and the pump and burner kick into action haha.

Hahaha, no it's silent when it's on, you just can't hear it, otherwise that would've been a major problem and it WOULD'VE been moved hahaha... nothing disturbs me and a film, other than the missus wittering on about can's of baked beans lol

The suspense is killing me! Did you get to watch your Sunday night movie?!

Looking great so far.
Hahaha, well I was up until 3:45am sorting the sound and wiring of the speakers, had a nightmare where two wouldn't work and took me 90 minutes to figure it out. Will be posting some pictures later of the latest state... but yeah it's up, running, sounds and looks fasntastic and that's without my usual tweaking and calibrations... still things to do after work so it'll be later tonight... however we'll all be down there tonight for Home Alone 4k... need to start my Xmas now...

OK, so, here's todays pictures with a neater room... and getting there now, managed to get all curtains up this evening and blinds for the small windows.... and TONIGHT is my first film in there, it's only Home Alone 4k, however need to somehow shoehorn myself into Xmas spirit now and feeling happier now it's nearly done...

I've got some day time piccies and nighttime with the curtains closed so you can appreciate the differences.
