Regardless of the yellow flags waving, there’s a sodding car on the fastest part of the circuit.

Kinda gives it away when you’re hurtling toward it at 210mph :p

not sure how the other penalties will go but another annoyance is Gasly makes a mistake, brings out the flags and could potentially start as high as P2? Needs some sort of disincentive if you ruin peoples runs

Bwaaahahahahaha!

Vettel suspects yellow flag was withdrawn at end of Q3 “because Max was coming” said:
Vettel said he was happy with his qualifying performance but believes he could have done better if he hadn’t had to slow down for yellow flags on his final lap.

“I’m pretty happy,” said the Aston Martin driver. “We out-qualified a Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren, so I think we can be happy with that.

“It’s a bit of a shame because I had the yellow flag in the last sector and then the yellow flag cleared, I guess, because Max was coming.”

:D vettel is such a brilliant troll.

Lots of drivers called to the stewards. Nothing will happen because if they penalise them all then max gets included.

If max and bottas get penalties then gasly ends up P2

Interestingly max is facing a harsher penalty due to them being double waved flags at the time. Most of the others seem to be singles.

"The yellow flags were being displayed after Pierre Gasly suffered a front wing failure and a puncture coming out of the penultimate corner and rolled to a stop on the pit straight.

Verstappen came through moments later on his fast lap, but while the marshals were waving yellow flags, it was not clear if the light box was also displaying a yellow or if he received a warning on his steering wheel."

The thing is though, under the rules, light boxes and steering wheel warnings are only an aid. Ultimately a marshall's box waving a yellow or double yellow's has precedent. Anyone that actually thinks they can ignore a marshall waving a yellow or double yellow flag really has no right to be on a racetrack.

They’ll penalise everyone so the order remains unaffected.

Still no documentation uploaded for Max summons.

Sainz is up for 13.30, Bottas up for 13.45. Ignoring single yellows.

If as reported earlier Max has been summoned for 13.00 I guess they're either expecting his review to take 30 mins or someone else is due a 13.15 hearing?

If they go through a flag it's a stone wall penalty, their lap times can't be more important than safety. Stewards can be a bit hit and miss but they can't mess this up.

They’ve put them tomorrow so they have all night to work out how to best not give out a penalty.

Tell ya what though, if i was marshall on that track and the FIA don't dish out penalties............................................i would be very tempted to have a marshall's meeting and just say "up yours" and walk off the circuit.
End of grand prix.

Last year Lewis Hamilton was given a three-place grid penalty in Austria for the same violation. On that occasion Red Bull successfully petitioned the stewards to review a decision not to penalise him after presenting new video evidence.

The stewards will not meet with Verstappen until 1pm on Sunday in Qatar, four hours before the start of the race. The meetings with Bottas and Sainz will follow at 1:30pm and 1:45pm respectively.

I hope Mercedes petition the stewards in the same was RB did last year ;)
