Quake champions

Nope it will show a count down if you are in a queue. The loading screen can take 2-5 minutes for some people though.

Why did they make Quad damage pink? It should be blue as I keep thinking regeneration?

Does seem odd but I adjusted after like 3 games or so. Blue still fits it better though.

I'm stuck on the loading screen. Firewall ok so I'm just in a queue?

Always the same for me.

What seems to work for me is to alt+tab to desktop then use task manager to close Quake but leave bethesda launcher running. Then just click play again.

Always seems to work for me. Seems to be something more prevalent on amd cards.

Hehe! I'm utter pants at this game, utter pants. Saying that I haven't played Quake since 2003 - 05. Though the bunnyhopping is insane. Its even faster and easier than Quake 3. People are whipping my ass with 30 - 40 ping. :(

Also surprised how well the game runs on a single 5870 with 1GB vram. It crashes with any CrossFire profile even AFR. Granted the game is all on low with medium textures. It also hasn't had new drivers since early/mid 2015.

This is going to be fun with the new card though! Even though its smooth with the 5870 but I can feel the vram struggling with the big lava map. Tiny pause here and there.

Try that map on sacrifice - it opens up another 30% or so of areas - for other game modes I believe the map is twice the size it is in TDM.

Really happy to be playing Quake again, I'd echo the comments made about netcode though - RL and NL especially just feel "weird" and laggy, even with low ping.

Also makes me see how bad I've gotten at FPS over the years!

I had a quick go, it feels like quake which is a good thing, but more than anything it has made me want to play a Halo on PC again...

-braces for insults-

They seem to be having issues with projectiles and server authentication of them - they've made them far more responsive (a lot less lag between pressing the fire button and the rockets doing anything) but they now seem to come out of a point where you were ~3 server frames back which can be kind of disconcerting sometimes it works but sometimes its quite odd.

The problem is this modern approach to "netcode" which is far too easily pulled away from ideal by other laggy players and devs really need to stop with it :| on paper it makes it more "fair" but the reality is anything but.

I think there should be some team death match where you have to unfreeze your teamates (when frozen like in quake 3 arena) instead of spawning if you die.

Yeah. I never play on a laser mouse. Optical all the way. I just find it more consistent and usable, particularly if using accel.

But im a faily low sens player. Im sure for fast sens players laser is more viable.

I guess its just whatever you are comfortable with. I played with an old microsoft intellimouse for years.

I use a Zowie ec2 evo now. Great mouse.

QC not coping well with high dpi and the sensitivity slider.

I use 800dpi and 0.55

Are you a high or low sens player?

Generally you need a balance between mouse flicking to targets and being smooth with weapons like lightning gun.

Im a lower sens player. Traditionally have used accell to help but QC has no accel options. There are 3rd party background programs that can apply accel if you want it.
