Queen Elizabeth II has passed away - keep posts civil and respectful

I think that bit is easier to get right because you know there isn't a Queen any more, but I can see "Send her victorious" being used a few times by mistake.

There will be a public holiday for the Queen's funeral and I suspect fewer people will be working than a standard bank holiday because e.g. segments of the hospitality sector will be expecting less business.

There will be a queen though? Camilla.

But YouGov’s research reveals Land of Hope and Glory to be the favourite among English people, beating the other alternatives Jerusalem (18%) and Swing Low, Sweet Chariot (5%) – and even God Save the Queen itself.

Brexit may have changed attitudes and BLM I guess ... so not sure what the options are now LHG or J probably out, which would both have been OK for UK too,
maybe they should have a competition , can we steer clear of Billie Eilish , Drake, but maybe McCarteney could do it.

Interestingly its always been assumed that Camilla would be termed as "Princess" rather than Queen but it seems like that may not be the plan now.
Apparently changing the rules/legislation to make her "Princess" would make it unlikely that Kate would be known as "Queen" as it would be too much hassle to change the rules back.

I'm thinking more along the lines of the fake tears that turns to rage at others who don't shed the same said fake tears. If you had to trawl through that BoJo thread you'll see mods threatening to ban anyone that dared to criticise the idiot in any way - the comedy was compounded by the very reason the clown ended up in ICU in the first place.

When the Queen dies, and it will happen, the usual drama queens won't rest until the words "Prince" and "Andrew" are added to the swear filter, with a minimum 6 month banhammer to the head of any person that doesn't star out every ******* letter.

It's just weird.
Did Andrew participate in the ceremonies at the Cenotaph in the past? Serves him right for not participating

Given her age it’s only a matter of time before she expires, what surprises me is she is still (as reported today) carrying out public engagements.

Personally, I’d be quite happy for her to withdraw from them completely and live out her remaining time at ease, I think it would be a harsh person to argue she hasn’t already done more than enough to deserve this.

God save the Queen!

Boris says she’s doing well.

With his track record of telling the truth, I think the coffin makers should start sharpening their tools.
As everything has been planned as much as possible with Operation London Bridge, there’s a very excellent chance that her coffin has already been made. Perhaps the Queen has seen it and had input over wood, handles etc.

Too late for the current coffin makers, the late Prince Philip's and our Queen's matching coffins, of English oak and heavily lead lined, were made and put aside over 30 years ago. And yes, they went and specified them together, which is the posh people's alternative to speccing' a gaming PC ;) An astute move it was too, given the price of lead and prime English oak these days.

Where did you learn this information, from a very good friend of yours down the pub?
