Queen Elizabeth II has passed away - keep posts civil and respectful

Broke the record for longest reign of 70 years, 7 months and 2 days.

Plus oldest monarch at 96 years, 4 months and 18 days.

Charles is the oldest person to become monarch aged 73 years 10 months and 24 days.

I’m a royal fan and so interested in kings and queens in the past. I can name the monarch immediately if someone gives me a random year.

Good shot at Windsor. The half mast flag and the rainbow.

It’s a clearly major historic moment. The idea it should deserve a 1 minute silence and nothing else is clearly nonsense. If you want to carry on and not watch it, then don’t. No one is forcing anyone to watch the news on repeat. For other people, they want to know what’s happening and it is a significant moment.
I meant at the start of a football match in response to whether sporting events should be cancelled.

however those who want to watch it we have a 24hr BBC news channel........
you say people have the choice to not watch it ... they don't if normal broadcasts are all cancelled and it's just in your face royal stuff

The weekend's forthcoming Pride event on Jersey have used the alleged fact Her Majesty once said she wished everything to carry on as normal at her passing to state whatever occurs the event will not be cancelled. So I guess should the worst happen some attendees to shortly forthcoming events will have to decide what to do by conscience and etiquette....

Is there no thread you wont shoehorn your homophobia or racism in?
