Trying to pair my headset using the app but quest 2 isn't showing as an option wonder if it's because I have paired my Facebook account yet ?

Edit: I had to delete then re-install the app on my phone before it would give me the option for "Quest 2" in the device list or some reason?

Do we know anything about the straps? I live abroad and I put my order through OCUK and I am worried that since the accessories are not in stock they won't ship the headsets until they have all the items in my order. Do you know if they can split shipments or should I cancel and reorder?

Mine are coming in 2 shipments, but I didn't buy them in a single order.

Do a deal with yourself. Order the bits and bobs, then play. Then pick a different day to do painting, so you can keep your new quest 2 safe from wet paint.

Same here, pre-ordered Q2 with elite strap combo on Sep 16th. Q2 is scheduled for delivery today before 11pm but not yet shipped and the elite strap combo has now not got a delivery date.

I might cancel it if I get the Q2 and decide it is comfy enough and battery capacity is ok.

Amazon prime day does not help the issue with it being in a busy period for them.

You won't be reaching any positive conclusion with regard to to the comfort I'm afraid.

The strap is essential, there is stock at one of the highstreet retailers - first link on Google

I'd say the battery strap is worth it. Makes the headset heavier, but the counterweight effect makes it more comfortable.

I will be getting a better strap, but I'm not in any hurry just yet, will wait and see the 3rd party offerings.

I see a popular console based retailer states "RELEASE DATE 20/10/2020. 7 DAYS LEFT TO PREORDER" and obviously Amazon just state they'll email sometime if it's convenient to them to possibly inform me if it's remotely coming within the next 3 months..

I nearly ordered it from oculus on launch day with the quest where it initially was available but soon changed status, so perhaps stock is quite low for this strap.

Yep, both my Quest 2 and battery strap turned up today. The battery strap is a really nice piece of kit, feels solid and well made, and the counterweight definitely helps.

Quest 2 and battery strap / case just arrived. Probably won't have time to try it out today but I've fitted the strap and plugged it in to charge. Looking forward to playing on it tomorrow, hopefully vr cover is available soon.

Sounds like the app hadn't updated to the latest version.

How large are they? I resorted to widmoVR custom lenses on my Samsung Odysseys as my glasses are relative jam jars, the issue being I get way more distortion off centre this way so would love to try my glasses rather than having to keep using contact lenses all the time as at the end of a day my eyes are a bit dry and so try to remove the lenses to give my eyes a rest.

Not massive, thinish frames. They stuck out enough to push against the lens of my old Rift and hurt my nose.
