Yep been a while! Started with an Oculus Rift DK2 in 2014 after seeing it being used to play Elite Dangerous on bbc news. Had iirc about 10 headsets since, best is deffo the Quest 3 not just saying that because that's what I have now, what amazing progression in that time almost like sci fi with wireless and MR and image clarity etc.

Wow, just watched a couple of videos dated from 2014 introducing the Development Kit 2 for around $350. Seemed amazing at the time..!
Did you keep any of your headsets or mainly sell on and update.?
I know they are close to a decade apart but the DK2 to a Q3 is a great leap in accessibility and functionality.

It was amazing tbh even though the games and experiences were limited for a while at first. I don't keep any of my old headsets I sell them on to raise money for my next headset. Fond memories of the DK2, it's successor in some things a step back though, the Rift CV1 was the 1st vr headset aimed at general consumers, it had cheapo fresnel lenses compared to the DK2's lovely aspherics, the CV1 had awful glare/godrays, was so disappointed when I realised this. Now we have glorious pancakes in the Q3. It's a great time to be into this tech I'm more into it now than ever.

MR was pointless on the Q2.. like watching a very old black and white film on a 30 year old VHS cassette when the tracking is completely off..

Didn't realise, in that respect alone, how much the Q3 improved MR to make it usable.

Who removes the facial interface entirely, surely the light leakage would be shocking?
Mine arrived today, i'm very far from a headstrap expert as it's my 1st one but i wish i'd have bought into them ages ago, so convenient + comfy + mr without the interface is improved. Well worth £50 imo.
I've removed the interface as I'm mostly in MR mode so it's nice to be able to see the extra peripheral vision.

Have you noticed any buzzing ? I ordered it last night and there's loads of complaints on amazon reviews about some batches causing the battery to constantly buzz.

I chatted with the company and they assured me when I was about to buy mine that Amazon had ver 2 of the headset in stock, only, at Amazon. You can tell the difference as the ver 2 has a choke like suppressor in the wiring that plugs from the rear to the charge port on the Q3.
Zero buzzing when in use for me.

MMmm, I dont MR/AR at the mo, so will hold that thought for now then..
One thing I have noticed though, if you have a different interface, in my case the AMVR one, it can limit the ability to flip the headset up which is a bit of a pita..
Does the buzz only effect the BOBOVR battery as my KKCOBVR one is silent..
