Quest 3 accessories thread

Same here, have the AMVR facial interface, and when someone with glasses needs to use the headset, I have to completely remove the facial interface to adjust the depth. Whereas the stock facial interface has buttons to change the depth, which is much simpler.

I don't get any issues with light leak though, and it's much improved enough over the standard facial interface, for the adjustment issue to not make me go back to the standard one.

I find that the bottom adjust is a lot 'looser' than the top to the point that I grab the bottom of the interface it'll pop out, where the top is an interface off to adjust..

That's my worry with buying the AMVR interface. The quality control is abysmal.

My first one, before we even tried to adjust the depth control....

but the way it is made to control depth through a fragile and laborious adjustment procedure is just poorly implemented.
It did seem quite flimsy as well.

Just not happy with it.

I got my quest 3 second hand, and it came with the AMVR facial interface, which I find very comfortable..

The depth adjustment is fiddly, but it hasn't broken as yet, and doesn't seem that flimsy to me, when I do have to adjust occasionally..

Would love some lense protection things, that can be left on and used while playing, if anyone has any recommendations..

I got the plano version from VRWave. They're a snug fit in the lens aperture and take up very little space between the lenses and your eyeballs.

I got sent the new lightweight silicone light blocker interface from Globular Cluster to fit my M3 magnetic facial interface.

It's basically the same type as the light blocker for the Quest Pro, and only works with Halo straps where the headset isn't clamped to your face though.

It's very comfortable compared to the cloth and PU interfaces which put more pressure on your face. I think it's going to be my one of choice now for general Quest 3 use.

I really do recommend the magnetic interface in general as it makes it so easy to switch between different facial interface types for different uses. You get three with it - silky type, cloth, and PU.

Fiddly, yes indeed. We have multiple people using the headset and having rotary dial controls either side to adjust the depth is so easy and less potential for damage etc.

I note the AMVR being flimsy probably in reflection to the continuing need to keep adjusting it and, when used on the second or third level "peg" then the force of the outer shell being pushed onto the inner one is on the body of those pegs and not on the body as a whole, if that makes sense..?
Shouldn't be any reason why it wouldn't work. though you can get silicone skins for the standard versions which are much cheaper.

Arrived and fits well....

Took the plunge with the AMVR interface during prime day. Really like the idea of the pad itself being easily swapable for cleaning purposes.

But I just couldn't get on with it at all. With the silicone nose shield on, it tickled my nose constantly, and with it off the arch that clears your nose was always pressing against it and eventually hurting. Even with the guard set at it's furthest out - but I think that might be because no matter where I set it, by the time I've fitted it to the quest I've knocked it back to it's shortest.

So that was a shame, but at least I bought it on sale.

Try the Globular Cluster magnetic interface. Comes with three faceplates and three different cushions, plus the nosepiece is removable.

Yeah, given the rep that AMVR have, I'm disappointed by the interface.
The silk cotton feels nice, but is too thin.
The top of the interface itself adds too much height, so my KKCOBVR halo doesn't flip up anywhere near as much as it should as the top of the interface catches the bar.
The top adjusters can only be adjusted if the interface is removed, and yet the bottom ones are so easily adjustable you can adjust them when simply putting the headset on and wiggling it.

If it wasn't for how hard the stock interface pad is, I'd go back to the stock interface.

So, after my review on Amazon, I've been contacted by SpoSmart, offering me a refund...

Question is, what interface do I go for now, the Globular one has light leak (and is out of stock on Amazon) which I was getting with the AMVR one anyway, so don't want leakage, there are other 'AMVR' variants which will have the same issues..

I don't wanna go back to the stock interface...

There is one mod you can do to the stock interface where you remove the glued cushion and double sided tape or velcro an aftermarket face cushion to it.
meta interface, VRCover cushion.

Well, I have the stock interface, and the pads that come with the AMVR presuming they don't want it returned, so I could probably knock something up that'll cover my requirements...

does anyone know where I can buy replacement controller wrist string things.. my Quest 3 was second hand and the controllers didn't come with the strings/tethers..

the only ones I can find are NOT the same as the originals.. i.e. "better than the original" and much too thick for what I want..

or failing that does anyone have any they don't use/want?
