Quest 3 accessories thread

Just after testing out the Globular Facial Interface!! Played for about 90 minutes.

It's Fantastic!! I didn't realise just how uncomfortable the stock interface is until I tried out the new interface. It's so comfortable. And it's so nice to be able to easily switch between the different materials.

Initially I had reservations, lots of light leak and I seemed to have smaller FOV too. But I soon realised that I hadn't pushed it in far enough. It takes more force than you think to get it position correctly. The other mistake I made was I didn't removed the Glasses Spacer. Oh I had removed one spacer, I didn't realise there was two!!

But, yeah, totally recommended. After trying it out, I would even go so far as to say it's a must buy.

Just one more thing, the price is great for what you are getting. It comes well packaged in a good box. The interface and the three different pads just feel like quality. The stock interface feels cheap in comparison.

Did you buy the one for the std headstrap or the halo type.?

Thanks.

I made the same mistake with the glasses spacers :D

The good thing is Globular Cluster are producing extra interfaces for this. One is a Quest Pro style forehead pad, for open face use, but they just released a soft silicone light blocker for use with halo straps which creates far less pressure on your face.

I did try one of those lens protectors but I found it made the screen very dark

I actually got a reply about this on reddit.

Sorry, maybe I am misunderstanding your question, just buy the one that suits the strap you have? I don't have a Halo strap so bought the standard one.

Yeah, sorry kinda vague. Then again I'm picking up random snippets about the halo type face pad they sell as being a V2 with changed pads etc. Nothing positive, just a couple of random reddit posts mentioning it.
I wondered if you had the halo type and it noted the revision, that's all.

and, if I can crave your indulgence for a moment further, an awesome tune that features in the end credits. [loud with headphones]

Has anyone ordered directly from Kiwidesign. ?
My aubika head strap isn't holding as much charge as it used to do.
The K4 looks a decent replacement, it's a lot cheaper getting it direct from Kiwi than from the rain Forest but wondered if it shipped from UK or china warehouse?

Update ...
I went to place an order on the official website and says delivery is 10-25 days so it's shipping from china

It depends which head strap you buy.
Thanks for the info melmac, and Sorry, I assumed I'd use the supplied head strap (if there is one?) or the Globular Facial Interface would come with one?

I've got a Quest Pro and bought a Globular Facial Interface, and that came with everything I needed...I'm obviously missing something!

I'm hoping a decent full kit goes on sale for Black Friday so might get one in prep for the Quest 3...

Thanks,

Thanks,

The facial interface is just the facial interface. If you want a different head strap you'll have to buy another one. globular cluster do one but the Bobo with swappable batteries gets the best reviews.

Having bought most of the facial interfaces, none of them are perfect.
In fact, the closest to perfect is the stock interface but with the pad removed and replaced with something like the AMVR silk cotton one.
Globular Cluster lets in light, but through the gaps in between the different spacers rather than through the vents.

AMVR, but the original Q3 one, PITA to adjust, if you alone use the headset, this is less of an issue, nose blocker feels like a bit of an after thought, the bottom adjusters are weak and easily moved/broken. I did review it on Amazon and, to be fair to them, they refunded me, which is what allowed me to put the pads on the stock interface.
Doesnt really work well with a halo strap as you cant lift the headset up, depending on how you have it adjusted anyway..

Everyone was raving about this, and while the idea is good, and they give you separate spacers with each pad rather than cheaping out and just giving you the pads and one set of spacers which is convenient, however if you have bright lights above where you play, you can get a fair amount of light bleeding through, nose blocker is the best of the bunch.
However, I have also seen people on Reddit saying that when using this interface the headset has developed a crack..

This is what I am using at the minute, light leak through the vents but that adjusters are easy to use, face pads similar to the GC one so got some mix and match ging on..

I am tempted to get the new AMVR one while in my quest to find the best FI....

The Kiwidesign k4 boost battery headstrap is in the black friday sales but still expensive compared to buying directly from kiwi.
Ive spoken to kiwi and they will ship it out from a uk warehouse if requested. I've ordered one so lets see how long it takes to come.

Been a while, after buying 8 quest 3 battery headset straps and everyone not working, are they now working or what's a good one to get now?
