Quest 3 owners etc

As regards deal pixels, ok it may be a problem with the technology, but this all seems to be a major quality control problem, or why hasn't anyone got a better manufacturing way to prevent deal pixels happening in the first place.

Dead Pixels happen in TV's, Monitors, VR headsets etc. Most people wouldn't notice them at all on TV's and Monitors because they are so far away from your eyes. In VR headsets the screens are so close that stuck/dead pixels are much easier to notice. And I am guessing that because of the Pancake lenses and everything is so clear now that people are noticing dead pixels where they might not have noticed them before.

In regards to Passthrough, seen an interesting post on Reddit about the cameras. This guy got two Quest 3's and the passthrough on one was far better then the other. Some other people in the thread said the same thing. There might be some move to get try and identify if there is just a bad batch of Quest 3's out there. Just like in the first few months of the Quest 2 there was a batch of headsets out there with bad lenses.

This might account for the differences in people's experiences.

@Tombstone I think I remember you saying you got two headsets, have you compared the passthrough between the two?

Yeah, looking at both, they seem about the same. Both pretty grainy, overall image quality not great. Certainly not close to the passthrough footage I saw in videos and reviews.

Was the passthrough you looked at in footage through the lenses, or recorded from headset? I suspect there's a difference between the two. I've played around a bit more, and the moment I'm actually playing something in MR, I just don't notice the quality of the passthrough, I'm in the room, and know it. Watching a bit of a film felt the same way. Not sure how much media viewing I'll be doing on it at the moment to be honest, but doing with a browser and passthrough was nice.

Think it was here someone was mentioning tracking? I just full combo'd crab rave on expert plus for the first time (and I really haven't been playing much compared to when I was going for it ages ago), didn't feel any worse at all, quite possibly better. I'm not sure about the haptics at the moment though, I swear I sometimes didn't get feedback despite a successful slice.

I suspect once games start developing for the haptics, it'll be a whole lot better.

I think I must be an idiot. I’ve got the VR P10 plugged in and they worked last night, I had a faff connecting them. Then when I turned on the headset today they just didn’t seem to connect. Should the automatically connect if the quest is on and I take them out of their pod? Do I need to connect to the dongle through the app on the phone? I’m confused and I swear I read the manual -.-

Is it not just the case of how well your play area is lit.?
Small camera sensors are simply bad in more challenging conditions and have to boost iso to compensate which makes image very grainy.
YouTubers usually have very bright studio lights which help with that.
Probably best to try it on a sunny day.
I know Disco VR said that you need to try it in very well lit room to get the most out of it.
