Quest 3 owners etc

I am unable to login to my meta account as I have used a business mobile number which I do not have access to right now. I still have access to this mobile but it is at work. I guess I won't be using the headset tonight then.

as much as i do have minor new toy envy i think everything i have read confirms i am better skipping this gen and keeping my quest pro. i dont do a huge amount of standalone and any games which come out i can always get in 2 - 3 years time.

i wont lie tho, the Q3 is seeming to be far better than the reports a few months back were suggesting, with its 2 screens and improved FOV. if i had my £535 back in my pocket today which would i get?

i am not sure but probably the pro, mostly for the controllers.
We were comparing the two at work today, the boss owns both, I have a Rift, Q2 and Q3 as of this afternoon, we really couldn't see much reason to change from the pro to the 3 at all, the resolution bump really didn't seem that big of a deal, the passthrough while better wasn't enough to warrant changing we reckoned, about the only real issue we noticed was the Q3 was far less susceptible to seeing lights flicking than the pro. Having got home and spent a while playing with mine I can definitely see the bump now so it may just have been what we were playing at work, my limited time so far makes me happy to move on from the Q2, the lenses alone are the big pull, the screen has better blacks than my Q2 by far, still not a patch on my CV1 though I did run that with SPUD off.

Still waiting on my elite battery strap but tempted to cancel that and get 3rd party to be honest, plus I'll be on the lookout for a 3rd party facial interface as the default one isn't great for my face.

Il2 Sturmovik and Elite Dangerous are both significantly improved over the Q2, still using the default airlink with dynamic settings, maybe one day I'll buy VD and learn what I'm missing out on but at the moment I just don't see any issues at all.

Oh and the screendoor is visible, I have to look for it to see it but it's definitely still there, the boss could see it too.

Yeah, actually it finished downloading just a few minutes after my last post so didn't take long at all. So I began the trial and started learning how to use the controllers to move forward, sprint, jump and climb walls. Really enjoyed it but didn't get far before the trial ended, lol. I've not done much VR gaming before so it's all pretty new to me. I do need a new eye prescription for sure but I'm wondering if others get super sharp graphics on games and apps? I find I get fairly soft focus compared to if I was say looking at the same graphics on a monitor. I don't know if it's a VR thing or my eyes
Generally flat screen games on a 4K monitor will look better than a vr game, but for sure if your eyesight isn't great then that can have a major negative effect. it's worth getting your eyes checked out. flatscreen games aren't as demanding to run as vr game mainly because vr games have to render the scene twice (once for each eye) so flatscreen games can max out on the visuals. still some great looking vr games though.

Most games are rendered at very low resolution on quest headsets.

Yeah, my eyes need a new prescription but like reading this text on my phone is absolutely crystal clear. With VR, I can drag the menu very close to my eyes and it's clear though not as fine tuned and zoned in to my eyes as this text here. But it softens as the menu gets further which seems sort of counter intuitive for my eyes as I'm long sighted. I also have to keep adjusting the headset up a little to improve clarity because it keeps moving down just a little on my face and the focus gets a bit off. I don't know what the real issue is. Maybe just not wearing glasses at all, a new eye prescription, prescription VR lenses and a better headstrap might give me the sharpness and clarity I want.

Asgards Wrath one?

I redeemed the Q3 offer for AG2 but not available until mid DEcember, I think. I see AG1 is also available to me on my Meta login library via my Link-pc games. Anyone know how I install this PCVR game? AG1, that is.

I can't see an install or download button on the web page
