Quest 3 owners etc

I've noticed when i turn off guardian ("boundary") in my Quest 3 it kicks me out of passthrough and i can't go into it again until i've re-enabled the guardian, is this normal and if so is there a way around this (dev mod is enabled)? Edit : sorted it.

yes I've played it

its ok, nothing special

Yes, I played quite a bit of it last night. Not too bad actually, and because it's the first adventure/action/stealth game I've played in VR, the novelty is still fresh and exciting for me. But I must say, it's the first game I've tried with the headset where the graphics seem better since everything else I've tried has been pretty low resolution. Is it worth me getting Red Matter 2, would that be even crisper graphics?

How did you manage to solve this? Was also frustrated about that :)

If you have any app or game running in passthrough then it will insist on a boundary/guardian, otherwise u can't use passthrough. If there's no app/game running you can use passthrough without a boundary and it won't prompt you for one. Would like to know how to turn off boundary when a game/app is running and passthrough enabled, will have to read up on it. The only workaround afaik is to map a huge boundary but what a chore.

Replacement Q3 arrived this morning. Cant see any defects yet.

Now need to try and sort the £100 discount from the returned product to this one. Anyone succeeded in this yet?
Good news on getting a defect free Q3, my replacement is too. About the discount, you need to wait until Very have received your faulty Q3 back (took about a week before I had confirmation of this), then ring Very and explain you want the discount applied to your replacement Quest 3 as the 1st one was faulty. I've gone through this process and had the discount applied today.

My Zenni lenses arrived today, i never received any shipping notification or tracking info so them arriving was a surprise. They do the job, much prefer them to wearing glasses.

Well my 3rd headsets arrived, and so far I've not found any dead pixels.

but my word, after 5mins my forehead is red raw! Not comfortable at all

You are overtightening the side straps. Use the top strap to hold the weight of the headset and then use the side straps to hold it in place. What happens is that most people use the side straps to do both and they tighten the side straps as much as they can. Which pulls the headset against the forehead.

A counter weight on the back of the strap can help.

It will never be as comfortable as the after market straps, but you should be able to wear it without causing you pain after a few minutes.

Does the design of those accommodate the fact the Q3 arms have a curve to them? I printed some yesterday but they don't really fit as they are totally flat. Found a design someone did to use the DAS (vive?) which looked a lot better, if no one else has done a Bobo M2 version by next weekend I will try and hack together the two designs.
Turns out the flatness is a non issue. All I had to do is heat them up with hair dryer, install them on my quest and hold them in in place until they cool down and solidify.

Decided to take the hit and ordered the Meta elite strap with battery. Can’t deal with the fabric strap.

Will post my thoughts when it arrives! If it’s anything less than perfect it’ll be going back though as I expect god tier comfort and decent build quality for the price Meta are asking!

Worst case i have 30 days to try it and can send it back in the event of issues and/or if a better looking/cheaper third party option appears!
