Quest 3 owners etc

I've just ordered a USBC 3.2 cable rated for 20Gbps and 5A power. Going to see if it's any good.
The only downside is that the max length is only 3m, which is just about enough for my use.

Does your USBC socket generate that much power though? The cable being rated that high is fine, but I don't think it's common for motherboards to supply it.

if i were buying now i would look at something like this

(edit... sorry removed link (before a mod shouts at me- i completely forgot).. the point was it was 5m and had a block on the cable with a usb c socket in to allow an external power source.
it also had a load of reviews from quest users saying it works really well. it was 28.99 but with 15% off voucher available at moment)

comes in 7m as well but i always thought 5m was the reccomended max length.

note it allows you to add separate power to it to give your headset a charging boost

Not sure, it's an MSI X570 Tomahawk. It just says, USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps Type C

I guess it's the best I'm going to get anyway.

Just ordered some prescription lenses from Vr Rock which worked out at £44.33 including expediated shipping ;)

Cheers all

I've been tempted to order a Q3 but wondered are previous Steam games compatible with it? I owned the original HTC Vive when it came out so have a fair few VR games sitting on my account.

all games on the vive run on the quest so go for it. the quest supports oculus vr and steam vr too.

Question to owners. Could you try just
spamming the triggers on your left and right controllers, and then extending your index fingers out in a pointing motion? Doing this sometimes causes my index finger tracking to be slightly curved, like as if my actual finger is bent.

It’s an odd request, but would help me determine if this is a hardware or software bug.

btw i tried tonight and...... my wired connection is not registering again. i just downloaded the beta to see if that fixes it. i did not have elong to game however so didnt try that, i went back to virtual desktop wireless.

I have a shorter cable which registers with oculus as usb3 compatible, but can't click the blue button inside the headset quick enough. I'm using virtual desktop at the minute as have great experience with it from my time with the Pico 4. Just spent my first hour with it in iracing, and other than my router not being ideal (typically I sold my ax57 a few months ago) I thought the headset itself was pretty decent. I'd say better than Pico 4 actually mainly due to the colours. That said, the strap and face pad needs to go asap!!

It's a great stop gap until vr1.

I still think Pico 3 link edges it though, but still early days.
