Quest 3 owners etc

4XVR runs at 120hz and gives me 100% smooth playback where skybox does not and drops or doubles some frames even at 72hz which in theory should be mostly smooth (3x24fps).
Thanks. I can't say I've ever noticed any dropped frames on Skybox. The only thing I've ever seen, which is quite rare, is it suddenly restart from the beginning of a movie when I'm halfway through watching it, but I'm guessing that was a wifi issue with buffering as my router is downstairs whereas I'm usually upstairs. Once I resume it generally doesn't do it again.
Only reason why I've kept my PS4 and PSVR around so I can still watch my 3D Blu-Rays easily.
I don't think my SNES or Wii will do 3D ;), and (with the exception of the gimmicky Wii) I've not had any real interest in console gaming since I started with PCs.

Just learnt of a quite cool feature of the Quest Games Optimizer, it enables the recording of your own 3D videos with passthrough. To anyone interested here's how :
go into video capture settings (top right) of QGO and in eye selection choose side by side for 3D capture. Then open the camera app, select record video, then record a video in passthrough. Then open the files app, open the video u just recorded, then select the icon in the bottom right and choose 3D side by side, voila your own 3D video.

Anyone interested in playing Bart Saber?

Don't get the BINBOK VR T3 Plus Head Strap just got mine and it buzz's like crazy gonna try and send mine back not happy.

They may all do this depending if they're charging at the low or high charge rate.

I'll let you know what the Aubika is like, I should get mine on Sunday. Battery supposedly works a treat so hopefully it is also buzz-free.
Don't want to put a downer on the strap but there's a reddit post saying the strap blew up a charger and had serious buzzing. They are saying that YouTube video is just nonsense. And click bait.
Fingers crossed everything is ok though, a couple of people on the post said that theirs were fine

Guys you can try the Avatar 2 3D Full-SBS trailer upscaled by me with Topaz AI from 3840x1920 to 7680x2160@24 h265@60mbit . The results are amazing on Quest 3 and its just little demonstration of what todays technologies are capable of ... I am tested and it works with SkyBox and Pigasus but i personally like it most played with 4XVR player in mixed reality mode .
If there is need - it the players you just set 3D Full SBS mode and aspect ratio 16:9 .
If you play it on PC version of SkyBox and VD you can passtrough the multichannel audio to your home theater audio systems too and get complete audio-video experience :) I just can imagine what this could be watched at 8K OLED VR screen at upcoming VR sets next year ... lol
Please feel free to share your thoughts and experience !

Thanks for this. I couldn't find where the options are in 4XVR for setting 3D Full SBS or for changing the aspect ratio. Can you tell me where to look? I ran the trailer for a few seconds and it was in 3D but looked all sort of stretched.

Is there any better way for charging the headset than using the supplied charger or the expensive charge dock? Can any USB-C charger be used or what is the limit range for it?

For example Could I use my Xiaomi 12 charger which I think is a 67W.

well, you can use "any" charger , but some will be slower, some the same as the default one

the one supplied is 18W, so it should be ok, if you have it already, try it

According to the interweb, the max charging rate that the headset will take is around 18W, no matter how much extra you have available.

Yeah it only takes in 18w i have a 100w charger for my oneplus 11 and it takes the same time as the 18w.

What's the best way to take screenshots and record video of VR gameplay?

I noticed when playing Arizona Sunshine through AirLink it was mirrored on my monitor so I presume for that I could just use AMDs recording software?

I've taken and viewed screenshots while in a game. Press and hold the Meta button on the right controller and then press the front trigger to take a screenshot. You'll hear a sound that confirms a screenshot was taken and you'll see a notification. You can then press the Meta button again to bring up the menu, then click on camera and view your screenshots (and delete if you want as well). I've not recorded video but it's basically the same, press and hold the Meta button but this time press and hold the trigger to start and stop recording.

Anyone tried f1 23 since upgrading to the 3? I tried it with quest 2 and immediately got a refund, but I'm curious if the minor fidelity boost of the quest3 would make it playable?

4080(bought it last year when 4090's were unavailable for like 4 months - while the card's power is underrated, the terrible price was within 3 or 400 bucks of a 4090 and I wish I had just waited a few months for them to get in stock)

I primarily play ams2 and assetto corsa but I am intrigued by the f1 series. I really enjoy open wheelers on ac and ams2, especially the 90's indy cars. Probably the hardest to drive cars I'd imagine. Also I just got off the phone with my doctor and unfortunately my aids has turned into full blown HIV positive.
