If you're looking at £14,000 cars, you should be able to get into a 2017 ish facelift 420d that doesn't have moon mileage on it now, that strikes me as bonkers money to pay for a 2015 2 series just because it's low miles.
(And honestly, such low miles on an old diesel would just put me off anyway, DPF is probably near enough clogged to death by now)

Edit - and to be honest, you would probably still be worth looking at petrols but you seem fixated on diesel as if a petrol is going to be completely useless if you take it near a motorway.
