queue at hollister shop today...

In other words your girl can't pull them off. :p

The vast majority of the girls who wear this sort of stuff are the type I wouldn't be interested in. Of course that's stereotyping just a bit but there's something to it.

My girl happily hates them as much as I do. I'm sure she could pull them off if she wanted to, she was asked to work there by their creepy recruitment tactics... could've just been a pervy man, in retrospect.

been in there once when it first got a store in the trafford center, went in with gf, couldnt see anything, stumbled round a table, made an exit.

there was however a queue of maybe 60 people outside it in trafford center the day after boxing day.

I went into the hollister shop today for the first time, i can honestly say i always thought that place was a thai restaurant from the outside, it was only because my friend said "let's go into that hollister shop" that i realised... i only queued for about 2 minutes then got in. Weird atmosphere in there, i swear someone could have been killed/raped and no one would know. Cool store though, i like how different it is. On a side note, it wasn't busy enough inside to warrant a queue.

I know a girl who wears JW stuff, and she's not that well off, her brother is however. she's very well mannered and extremely nice and considerate.

B could still be true my friend, get in there.

There's definitely something to the suggestion that the queues are often artificial. I'd suppose it's a combination of giving the customers inside the store a more pleasant experience — the stores layouts make them cramped enough as it is — and conveying an air of exclusivity and popularity to those waiting in the queue or simply passing by.

Queueing to enter a shop might be seen as a mere inconvenience to many, but it only increases the appeal of the brand for a majority of the target audience.

It really makes me question in these kind of threads how much of the clothes they actually buy?
I really despise fashion it is just a marketing cult, I would rather buy clothes from someone who pays there workers a decent wage rather than just because it has some brand name written on it.

I've bought some Superdry stuff recently, but never really did until they opened a new store here. They fit really well and the quality I find is really good. Not sure on the chavy comments, perhaps as soon as a 'chav' is seen to be wearing something then it instantly becomes chavy...

The queueing outside the cardiff store was simply crazy, don't see what all the fuss was about myself. On a related note, is Jack Jones clothes considered "chav" ?

My girl hates them. And if anyone hates their stuff more than me, it's her.

I'd post up pictures to prove she could pull them off, but she's 16 (I'm 15) so it might cause a few problems...

Then again, she is a hugely spoilt schoolgirl who routinely dresses in Gucci, Armani, Prada etc. and obsesses over fashion... :D
