Race Driver: Grid

Is there a lack of online servers on the 1.2 patch.
Loaded up Grid for a bit of online action today and there was only 5 servers.
Is it just me or is anyone else having the same problem?
 
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!

I wanna play this so much but its not working properly, cant figure it out, its just like Dirt and that works fine :mad:

Any car i drive refuses to go beyond 90mph and i can only get past 4th gear if i set it to manual, but im still limited to 90 :confused:

It just wont accellerate quick enough, ive installed it on 2 computers now and the same thing happens on each.

Just updated to 1.2 aswell and that didnt help :(

This really sucks!



ITS WORKING! Damn you evil turbo button on controller :mad:

Don't worry worked out what the problem was. Its because I had FreeTrack installed. For some reason DiRT and GRID don't like it being installed. It doesn't even have to be running just installed. There is a work around by using GlovePie.
 
Is it just me, or is the music in this game bloody awful!?

I love the music on the intro, and theres one other i liked, but the music on the replays is just painful to listen to, almost as bad as german techno :eek:
 
I have a 5.1 setup and an x-fi sound card. I had to up date the x-fi driver to get the games sound to work in hardware mode.

The game is in surround sound not sure if its true 5.1 or its the x-fi upmixing it.

Games should come with a built in sound test.
Sound can make or break a game IMO

When i first tried it in 5.1 i did sound like it was in surround, but no centre speaker. A little strange for a game like this. I bet it is in 5.1 for the ps3 :(
 
Just went and brought a 360 controller and this game really does come to life now.. Racing the open class (little scaled down formula type things) in drivers eye view is absolutely fantasmic.
 
Hehe, honestly I,de love too, but it costs a lot more for a good wheel and pedal setup than a 360 controller! My uncle used to have a fantastic setup bolted to his desk + floor, super heavy wheel, none of this plastic crap, but it cost a fair bit.
 
Just a note to the G25 users playing this game on the pc.

When i first installed the game, i had to mess about with the settings on the Logitech profiler to actually make the damn car accelerate, stop and turn properley. I patched the game to 1.2, updated the logitech profiler to the latest version and it's all working perfectly now. It sort of self configured itself, so now i dont get any ridiculous snappy oversteer, the car is stable at high speeds and the pedals work perfectly.

I also noticed Dirt works much better than before. All i can say is that the logitech software must have been at fault, because since i've updated that, both Grid & dirt work faultlessly.

Im going to start a new thread showing my settings. This thread has too many replies for someone wanting to find out the best settings to use on Grid.

Just started playing this - what a game! Great fun.

Finding it impossible on a pad though, finding the keyboard much easier. Are those of you using pads, using the x/y axis for driving? I find it extremely twitchy.

its a great game, ive never played as much online with any game like i have grid, i use the 360 pad , works great

Most people seem to be saying a pad is better but I can't get used to it, I think I'll just stick with the keyboard as I find it easier.

Had two amazing races last night where I was passing and getting passed out right up to the end of the final lap, won both of them by less than a second, my heart was thumping, it was excellent. :D
