Bah, I thought as much. Tbh I always thought it was going to be a token payment so I could race the Mazda. I'll think I'll actually hold fire for a while, I've got a lot of other series to put some serious time into and I need the tracks more.

On an unrelated note, I don't know if it's too late or not, but if anyone bought the World Cup content on the assumption that England had qualified (as was written in an official article), iRacing will refund you the difference and let you keep the content. So I recently got the Star Mazda and Road Atlanta for free, gonna spend the credit on Spa and either the Jetta or another track, when I resub that is, not got a PC atm.
 
Carburetor cup is so frustrating sometimes. I really look forward to the races but I'm not quick enough to qualify at the front and I've been taken out by someone crashing in front of me so many times now. I mean yesterday the pack didn't even make it to the second turn before someone span and took 3 cars out. I wouldn't mind but there's not a lot you can do to avoid it. If you back off the throttle you get rear ended at 185mph and crash anyway and if you don't back off then you're crossing your fingers and hoping the car spins out of the way.

Still, love NASCAR racing! Can't wait until I can race the trucks.
 
Yay!! Got my first win tonight in round 7 of the Grand Touring Cup, Was having a fantastic battle with another Jetta until they spun out with 2 laps to go, Didn't know what position I was in until after the race.


Phew - If I had known my position I'd have cocked up under the pressure.
 
Im utterly disapointed they have removed the Jetta only series, bare in mind i havent been on in almost 9 months, its quite a shock :( i love my little jetta, and i flat refuse to race in the stupid grand touring cup.

How come you refuse? tried it and disliked it or just scared your ickle diesel will be beaten by a hairdressers car? :p

Not that i dislike it, i just dont like the concept, a squirly little mx5 and a big brute Jetta, just spells disaster, i may try it, but the other thing that puts me off is the racing schedule, so for now im running the R class mx5, while i dont enjoy it, as the car is a pig, im fairly fast at 59.3xx at limerock, and can do constant 59's in the full 20 laps, so ill stick with this. Got the V8SC and the Vette, but i need to buy some more tracks to compete which i dont have the cash for yet :(

Fair enough, I'm not a huge fan of either car really, don't mind the mx-5 (but prefer the SRF/Skippy in that kinda style of handling) and actively dislike the jetta so the series isn't much use to me either :p
 
The Jetta's participation was so bad it was almost impossible to get a race, and the MX5 was so popular that it made complete sense to have another series with more tracks, so I don't see the problem with the GT cup.

Oh really, did the Jetta slump that bad when they brought the mx5 in? I wouldnt know personally as i hadnt been on in a while, but when the Jetta was newish and no mx5, it was a blast and races were constantly full.
 
Attendance was really bad last season in the Jetta, lots of races that didn't go official due to lack of drivers. This was happening even before the MX5 even arrived.
 
Just noticed the buy $75 get $25 free and my 3 month trail is up on Saturday. So using this offer to pay for a years subs takes the price down to £3.86 a month - bargain.
 
Arrgh, just as i was getting back into my racing, my trusty G25 is no longer trusty :( i think the right motor has bust, so im being powered by 1 motor, which isnt doing much :( 4 year old so its done me proud, its been modded to hell and back, i dont have the money for a new 27 or a fanatec wheel, so im screwed.
