Racing Simulators

Not usually mate, but it can depending on how you've driven the car throughout the race. Probably slipped a gear without realising it.

It's an odd one, it's not exactly 'random', but there does appear to be a 'good or bad' engine factor, eg a 'good' engine you can overrev massively and it just keeps on going, and a bad engine can pop the first time you overrev.

I could be mistaken but that's how it appears, I've done skippy races before where I've been overreving massively into a corner on every lap of the race and it's fine, and then others were I mistime the downshift (too early) and pop the engine instantly.

The last one is really quite rare though, as in once or twice in god knows how many races...

When you're bouncing it off the limiter in the first 3 gears constantly.

Knock it down 3 gears and if you can catch the gearbox lock that's likely to pop a block. However as mentioned by others, it's quite rare.

Bouncing off the limiter (in terms of just revving) takes a hell of a long time to kill the engine, the way to kill it quickly is to gain some speed, clutch in, down 3-4 gears, clutch out and it'll probably pop as you aim for about 30,000 rpm :p

How often does the MPR thing get refreshed?

I did my first live session since I renewed about 30mins ago, just a TT to ease me in, I did the required laps but the MPR thing still hasn't counted down on the required TT for promotion.

Did you leave the session before it closed? If so it should be pretty much straight away after it finishes.

Oh carp, just looked at the laps and noticed I had a x1 incident on lap 6 of 11. I assume you need 8 incident free laps in a row? Damn didn't even realise I had done that must have been the tiniest of off, I was taking it quite easy.

You don't have to sit in the session as long as you don't forfeit (you can close the sim), but if you left and came here to post straight away then the session would have still been active, therefore not updated.

Yeah you need 8 inc free laps to set a TT time, I'm not sure if you need to do that for it to count your MPR or not, but if it hasn't updated then we can assume you do.

It can take some time to update, It used to be about an hour or so but that was to see the stats page, not sure on MPR thingy,

That should definitely count though, right class car and a 'complete' session

Note that with TT's and Qualifying sessions you can safely 'Withdraw' (it doesn't change to Forfeit except during races) without losing anything :)

Just had my first race at LRP. Started from 9th and finished in 5th. I was 2laps off from the top :(. Lots of work to do and my SR? is now 2.24 from 2.44. I thought it was meant to go the other way? :(

Are all the races now going to be +1 hour all summer until the clocks go back?

Yep, basically the race times are static in GMT terms, obviously our clocks aren't so static :p

SR is purely how clean you are, guessing you had a spin or two in that? spin/go off track less and you gain SR and places, simples :)

Do spins and stuff in the 5 minute warm up before a race go against your SR?

Aye, but they only count for 0.35x or 0.5x (can never remember, essentially it's similar to TT/Qual sessions), they also don't appear in the incidents list so it can be a bit confusing at time.

They also count after you've crossed the line, if they're before the last person finishes they should be full-fat incidents, otherwise they're like TT/Qual/Warmup incidents.
