Well I have to say that this 480 is the worst card I have ever had. No idea if it is drivers or the card or whatever but I have had enough. Just trying to put together a video showing benchmarks in loads of games (was going for 20) but so far I have only managed to get one game out of 4 to run (alien Isolation). I have had "The display driver has stopped responding", I have had lock ups, I have had the game.exe has stopped working.
I thought it might be Mirrilis Action causing the problem, so went with my external capture card and nope, not having it still. What a waste of time and effort!

i too keep having driver crashes, First time i've bought something release day and i wish i hadn't now! Nice card when the driver works though.
This is why i never buy AMD reference cards anymore...
Playing The Division with no problems at all and can play for a couple of hours, so doesn't appear to be a duff card but running ROTTR, AoTS, Batman AK resulted in all different crashes and I have had enough now. It was a complete clean OS as well, so no idea. I have put the 1080 back in now and will run some bench tests and if I get crashes now, then it would indicate if it was my OS/system but I doubt it very much.
Hey greg, have you tried undervolting your RX480 yet? people seem to be getting some very good results by doing so.
Think someone set the AVFS to keep the Voltage a bit richer than it should be.

I didn't bud and nor should I have to. I know what you are saying and it is a fair point and I would have really wanted to tell people who are new to pc gaming or gaming at 1080P to get the 480 but having to undervolt the card to get it stable just makes no sense and the whole release feels rushed.
I am genuinely gutted

Greg, can you try something? Look for the Power Efficiency Setting in the Global settings section of Radeon Settings and set it to "ON" and see if this resolves your issues.
I have driver crashes and full system freezes with my R9 390X, but only when the Power Efficiency Setting is set to "OFF". My problems aren't as bad as yours though.
It sounds like you might just have a bad card. Have you thought about returning it?
How about doing so and instead reviewing the Nitro? I think the non ref cards are of more interest to enthusiasts anyway.
