Well I spent a while today trying to find a bloody EK backplate for the 580 but everyone is out of stock, and spending £50 to get one delivered from the US doesn't sound that great.

Will trade cookies for the whereabouts of where I can find one in stock!

Have also done some shopping tonight.

This will take care of the RAM & liquid color issues.

Haven't taken any pictures, but finished installing the last pieces of hardware into the computer and booted it up.

Currently on stock settings for the CPU/GPU

Reaches ~50 degrees under load so quite happy with the results already.

Will wait till I get the aesthetics looking right in the next week before I start tinkering with overclocks again.

I'm really liking this build, the colour combination works really well together and I lvoe the layout you've gone for, very clean and tidy. Excellent work buddy :D

Thanks! Still more to do, should look even better pretty soon.

Fair one, although as there pretty shiny if he put in some green LEDs.. (plus there in stock in the uk lol)

Not sure if that backplate will be compatible with an EK waterblock though. Will need to check some install instructions for it.

Ah good point. Totally didn't think about that. I would guess at worst the supplied screws with the backplate may be the wrong width for the block.

Yeah or it may use holes that are already occupied (gigidy)

I actually have a EVGA backplate for the 580, but it's not compatible with the waterblock. When I take the system apart again in the next few days I'll see if I can make it fit.

Haven't done much in the last week, however here are some updated photos.

I've now changed the RAM and darkened the dye which I think have worked quite well.

The system is due to go under the knife this week as the following needs to be done:

- Tidy up some of the tubing, as there is a little bit of bend in two of them that is unnecessary and can be shortened.

- I will be having my 24 pin and 6/8pin cables braided to match the color scheme by davido_labido

- Will be installing some LED's to provide some lighting

- Fitting of LCD temperature monitor

- Create a new batch of Dye from scratch the really nail the color I'm going for

- Re'wiring and cable management

- Try and fit my EVGA backplate to the GPU (could be tricky, if it does not work oh well. Impossible to find a 580 backplate in the UK at the moment)

Not long to go until it's all done now!

Had quite some fun this weekend doing the rebuild.

Started off by draining my reservoir using a make shift pump.

Then I had a "genius" idea to speed things up by disconnecting a tube on the res to pour directly into my bowl. Forgetting the basic principles of pressure however, I soon learnt this was the wrong thing to do as my case was flooded.

Luckily nothing hit my GPU and the motherboard just about cleared the water (so thank you parvum for that design!)

Not going to cut corners with draining a system in future, lesson learnt the hard way!

Spent the next few hours dismantling the whole system and the entire case in order to clean and dry!
