Rain's Parvum Watercooling Log

Love how it looks all finished off and with the lights on - glad you realised it never will be finished ;)

With it all finished would you recommend one of their cases to other people?

Definitely! Having gone through all sorts of Antec's/Silverstones/Corsair/etc cases over the years I can say without a doubt this has been the best case I've worked with.

For me, the main thing about this case that set it apart from competitors is it's flexibility and ease of use. For instance in a matter of minutes you can either build or dismantle the entire case, down to individual panels and screws (which came in handy plenty of times during my own build). This allows for quick cleaning and access to parts that normally would require some fingerwork to access under a fixed case design.

It was also one of the only micro atx cases that I found that could fit such an (proportionally) large amount of watercooling gear. Having 2 * 240 rads with fans on low speeds is great!

The customization factor is also something to take into account. Being able to order custom panels or added features from Parvum also makes the experience (if you so wish) to be unique. The material of the case also lends itself to being easy to work with if you wanted to modify it. The potential of what can be done to the case is huge.

Edit: Also the support parvum has given me has been excellent whenever needed and as it run by two guys the support given feels personal and so welcome compared to years of dealing with large companies.

If that isnt a shining review of the company and their products I dont know what is.

Thanks for the detailed reply btw :)

I will definitely be considering them for a future purchase.

Enjoy your machine :)

Rain, your build looks lovely :D Really need some of those braided cables for mine.

And you're quite right about the customer support from Parvum - great guys.

have you or can you post some pictures of your rig please?

my order is in for my h100 whoop whoop.

Can't right now, but I'll post a pic tomorrow.

One piece of advice: attach the CPU power connector to your motherboard before you put the h100 in, otherwise you'll have a tough time accessing the socket.

Great build, you got the coolant colour spot on! (was that tricky?!)

Another glowing review of Parvum, although I'm not a fan of the cases I'm going to see if they'll do some custom work for me...! (I'm expecting them to be so busy making cases they won't have time!) :o

Was the 580 backplate hard to fit with your waterblock? Or as easy as missing a couple of screws?

Thanks!

Well the coolant took two tries to get right. I wouldn't say it was that difficult but it definitely required the Mayham Pastel Green to achieve the non-transparent look. Once I was happy with that it was just a case of adding blue dye until I got the tint of green I was looking for.

Each to their own but I can't really fault them from my experience.

The 580 backplate was a bit of a bodge job really with the tools I had (aka none). I had to miss a few screws and had to cut out a chunk of the metal but it eventually fitted. It's okay for the moment but looking forward to a future GPU upgrade and proper EK backplate.

2 of the wires go to power header on your mobo, 2 go to the power led header on your mobo...

i assumed that but its this which goes where and if i have it the right way around.

if it does happen to be the wrong way round (either the positive into the negative or the led into the power on the mobo) would it cause a problem?

I actually changed my switch to something similar but with Green LED and a slightly different prong setup. I also plugged my LED wires into the HDD led header as the power led header had an uneven gap and the only way around this was to bend the pins which I didn't want to do.

The outermost prongs connect to LED power, the inside two connect to the PW switch. Check your motherboard manual to see which part of the front panel header this corresponds to.

thanks, would it matter if the + and - were the wrong way around on the switch?

ive got it all plugged in (those little spade type connectors really cut up my fingers) but i dont want to turn it on if something will break.

i have ordered a black with white ring as i think it will tie in with the build more (i did ask for this originally but i received a silver one - im not going to complain as i didnt pay for the case)

I didn't check, and I've reconnected it a couple of times. So either it doesn't matter or I've just got lucky.
