Ramadan Mubarak

Duffman and I could have actually learned something by now but instead this entire page is now filled with where people's nearest KFC is and a few people taking it upon themselves to tell others the forum rules despite having no jurisdiction to do so.

You didn't think a thread about fasting would end up in talk of KFC??? :D

I've just read an article in the times about this and how some athletes are not fasting and do other good deeds to ensure its not seen as some kind of sin or making up after the games, was wondering if anyone on here had done the same if so for what reason as it seems very strict.

Must take some real will power.

Best of luck those doing this.

I'll say it again, it is not for you or any of the other wannabe mods to decide what can and can't be said in this thread.

I will give my opinion in any thread I chose to and the irony in your statement is rather amusing, the moderators will decide for themselves which posts to remove and if I have an issue with a post that I think infringes the forum rules I will RTM it.......it has absolutely nothing to do with you what I do and say or not do and say in any thread, you can offer you opinion on whether you agree or not, but you cannot tell me I cannot post or make spurious accusations.

Also I don't recall mentioning your name, I was clearly speaking about the overall thread and the nature of what it should have been, as compared to what some have tried to make it.....and that you think it was aimed at you says more about what you think of your own motivations than anything I have said. And I have not taken it upon myself to assert any authority or jurisdiction at you or anyone else....If I disagree with something and have something to say then I will, and that includes Mrjagga, if you had not noticed (given your questions I would have thought you would have known this already and therefore making spurious accusations is somewhat disingenuous)

As for asking questions and learning about others beliefs, I refer you to the post you quoted.

This over-use and mis-use of the word troll is tiresome and isn't doing you any favours. The fact you even bothered to go through and count how many times I've posted in this thread is just embarrassing

The only embarrassing thing here is you thinking i went through the thread to count all of your posts

Lets not pretend you actually give a poo about ramadan and are innocently asking questions. As has been pointed out by others you are clearly looking for reactions with loaded questions or comments. Given you are the number 1 poster in this thread by quite a margin, speaks volumes in its self.

Its clear it burns you knowing this thread is open, all i can say is DEAL WITH IT.

it's a pity people still follow strange beliefs, but if it makes you happy good luck.

It's pretty obvious that fewer young people are following a religion as generations go on but I think that traditions such as Christmas and Ramadhan will always be followed even when Religion ceases to *edit* be as widely followed in the future.

It's because these times have become so commercialised and people have grown accustomed to the special event and the celebrations that revolve around them that this part will likely stray away from religion and become a tradition on its very own.

My mum doesnt fast as she is diabetic , so she pays an amount of money for 2 poor people to eat during ramadan. I missed acouple last year, one i had to travel down south and back, was about 11hour drive. Second one had a dentist appointment. Like my mum says God isnt cruel, if there is a valid reason you dont have to keep.

If someone posts questions as to why certain things are permitted in Islam or why certain things aren't, it isn't really for us to say what their intentions are. Nothing wrong with discussing and looking at different views, more interesting then reading about where the nearest KFC is anyway. ;)

Indeed. You reminded me of a Hadith.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Islam began as something strange and will revert to being strange as it began, so give glad tidings to the strangers.”

Theres a time and place for that, and proven by an earlier poster who got suspended for trolling, this isnt it. And theres nothing more interesting than finding a local KFC when you havent eaten in 18 hours :p

Right, so apparently me pointing out you're not a mod is ironic and laughable. But then you go on about how you'll write what you want and it has nothing to do with me and yet your last few posts have been doing exactly that with me and these other unnamed poster you keep alluding too, trying to tell people what they can and can't write here.

If my irony is laughable, what does that make your hypocrisy?

I've already answered that, try reading back up a bit.

Who are you, Derrren Brown? I was unaware you were able to read minds.

Yeah, it just shows how many times I've had to correct people on the proper usage of the word 'troll'.

Its clear it burns you knowing this thread is open, all i can say is DEAL WITH IT.

Damn it, you got me, I'm losing sleep over this thread being open. Tomorrow I'm going to book an appointment with a councillor about it.

(That was sarcasm btw to save myself another post having to explain it).

My dad can't do fasting now because he was recently deemed diabetic, it's strange that people in Asia get diabetic easily, (my uncles are all diabetic.) :(
