Ramadan Mubarakh..!

** Off topic post deleted **

Seems to be quite civil so far, the only deleted post was from Groen...but that's hardly a shock now is it?

Good luck to all of you who're doing this, you have stronger willpower than me for sure.

What does muburak mean? I find other religions fascinating :)

Mubarak is a type of congratulatory phrase. It can be used in all sorts of contexts. In this case its celebrating the fact that it is indeed Ramadan! Some people also use the word Kareem which is to mean generous, i.e. have a generous month of Ramadan
:)

Interesting to see how many genuine questions there are about Fasting in general as well as Ramadan. If there are any questions people have, I would be happy to answer them (I am not a scholar or islamic teacher of any kind, just a practicing muslim :))

Ramadan, that time of year when supermarkets sell 12KG sacks of rice in the Muslim aisle for the same price as the 1KG bags in the world foods aisle. Aka Morrisons.

Isn't the period another reason to pause? And long distant travel (something my father seemed to do in and around the month of Ramadan many years ago :p).

Could be an answer to the three (or is it now four) worlds problem.

I frequently do not eat during the day but that is metabolism not religion. I would find it very hard to do without liquids, coffee, tea or water though.

Religious observance is not really my thing but tradition, I can respect if sef imposed.

I hope it goes well with all observers.
