Yup it's a Muslim country.
It's not really on topic but wikipedia states: "Turkey is a democratic, secular, unitary, constitutional republic".
Yup it's a Muslim country.
Go figure...Islam is the main religion of the Turkish people in Turkey, where the CIA World factbook states that 99.8% of the country's population are nominally Muslims.[1] According to religiosity polls 97.8% of the population is Muslim.
Nope, that involves exercise as well as dieting and these miracle 6 pack in 60 minute videos are a load of crap too
Wikipedia also states
Go figure...
It would depend on how you define it. Some use the rule of the country as the definition.
Some people would say the UK is a Christian country, though I'd disagree, even of Christianity would be the most common religion, the country isn't ruled under religious law.
Not sure about the whole Ozil thing, as a Muslim he should have fasted but there are some sects who believe that if it is too hard or impacts on work then it is best not to do it!
No problem, Happy to help! I suppose it's important to make sure people understand the true meaning behind fasting as most people don't get it. And don't be ashamed, you're not alone in not knowing a thing! It's a beautiful thing for us so happy to shareRamadan Mubarak
And thank you very much for enlightening us on the subject, especially you Skaif. It really is good to understand more about your religion and traditions which I'm ashamed to admit I know next to nothing about.
I guess thst makes sense! I'm sure some footballers did fast though. I remember reading somewhere that they would jeopardise their place if they did and some did it anyway!I did some digging around myself. Apparently, Muslim footballers were excused under travelling exemptions.

Whatshisface at Inter did it when Mourinho was there, Muntari maybe?
In SA people sleep during the day and stay up at night.
They're still fasting as they didn't eat or drink during the day time.
that is surely defeating the point - I mean surely part of it is the challenge of sticking to the fast... not exactly hard if you're just fasting when you sleep like any other human being around the world
Ramadan Mubarak.
Do you find your mood is better or worse (or as normal) during fasting? I find i get a bit irritable if I'm overly hungry. Years ago I did Lent and reflected on my belief. I ended up not believing in any of it. Good luck!
