Random 3D printing chatter

I've changed out the springs on my ender 3 V2 to the yellow ones, and I've got loads more adjustment compared to what I had before. Well worth doing.

Also, I've finally printed something functional.

Two of the most expensive clips I've ever bought :D

Fun day, new springs and glass bed arrived.

Spring packet was already open and 2 of them missing...

Then took me an hour getting the glass bed levelled properly, including ballsing it up so bad at one point it scored the surface pretty nicely.

Got there in the end. Can't wait to get a full set of new springs. I swear the default ones move if you breath on them.

Dunno wtf happened on the last print. Was all good until 3 hours in and it looks like a lower part managed to completely detach from the bed, from underneath the higher part which was still printing fine.

Should have not tinkered with the bloody thing and stuck with the textured bed.

It could be the bed isn't level or to hot or to cold.

I have a magnetic textured bed.
Would not change it ever.

Started a big print today, with a raft....it as obviously not flat.

Might get a BLTouch as it seems that judging the resistance on the paper is matching at all corners is never going to be accurate.

Still, printing a large base I've just tweaked the bed while it's printing and it looks pretty decent now. Will see how this print goes.

I was printing fairly small stuff in the middle of the bed before, lulling me into a false sense of security!

You could print this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4642274
That may help.

I went with a auto bed level this time round.

Gave up, stuck the textured bed on top of the glass (saved me modifying the Z-limit to get some tension in the springs).

Levelled, and now printing great first time, perfectly adhered.

Oh well, as least I'm still using the glass so no a total waste of money :P

Glad it 's going ok.

When you have time, bring the Z gantry down to just above where the nozzle touches the bed.
Then measure from the bottom of the Z gantry to the bed on each side.

This will make sure that you have no Z axis offset difference.

Printed a phone holder on your old printer.. pink!!

PETG print warping/lifting. After an hour or some the corners start to lift.

Ender 3 V2 with yellow levelling springs. (Levelled again before printing it was fine).
245/85.
Suave Maxhold #10 hairspray on bed.

What could be going wrong here?

Note: My next model, I've added some little 'disks' to the corner in the hope it will add extra adhesion to stop it warping.

Isn't petg 70-80 on the bed, something to do with glass transition temps for petg which I think is 80 degrees. So you want to keep the bed in that region and not above 80.

Personally, I hadn't printed with PETG for quite some time until recently. I never used to have an issue with it sticking but after doing a lot of PLA prints then moving to PETG I found it simply wasn't sticking to the new textured glass bed. Eventually figured maybe it was something to do remnents of PLA left on the bed and scrubbed it with IPA, and the problem was pretty much resolved. I don't think PETG and PLA like each other much :)

Weirdly on that, i had an issue on my glass bed where nothing would stick after using IPA, literally nothing at all. after an hour of messing about I cleaned it again with something else and i was away. I now use this stuff instead:

Hrm, my hotend has stopped getting hot. Need to have a poke around and figure out what's up with it....

Does the thermistor show a - reading or is that correct but the hotend doesn't heat? First one would be thermistor fault, second is a heater cartridge fault.

Just check the wiring first in case something has worked loose.

Hotend doesn't heat. I'd just installed a chain on the Y axis to stop it snagging. Checked all the wiring, opened the mainboard housing, all looks fine.

Barely moved the hotend cabling so would be surprised if it's that...must have been a dodgy wire to start with...

Well, I've checked everything I can check now. Hotend simply isn't heating.

All the wiring is fine. Checked every connection. Thermistor is working as I can see it change if I change the temperature in the room.

Is Creality support worth using or should I just send it back to the rainforest while it's in the 30-days?
