Going to embed one of these in the back of an old 19" Dell TFT. Anyone know of a nice compact wireless (Bluetooth?) media keyboard with laptop style touch pad or track ball with good linux support?

tbh most would be fine, just google them quickly to see if there are any linux issues before you buy
most only use 1 USB anyway :D

I'm planning to get a few
1 for a NAS/media server
1 for a set top box
1 for the GFs PC
maybe another to replace my ageing laptop.
oh and one to replace the router

I heard about this via ocuk (general forum) and then gf's brother told me about it and looked further in to it. Quiet interesting as ive never used Linux before and a few vids on youtube using virtual box to install and use GUI. And then some coding tips for Python. can't wait :)

Was just talking about getting one of these with a friend, there's definitely room on my desk for at least one or two of these.

I think this would be a fantastic project for something like schools. Put these in grade schools or something when they are young. WAY cheap for the schools (damage coast etc) great for the kids i would imagine. Make people more computer literate better jobs etc. Not to mention this would be a great development platform for mobile devices. Custom android build etc.

Will probably buy a couple of these at least. will make great xbmc setups by the looks of things and possibly another for a Car PC project if I can find some software that supports Bluetooth handsfree.

In one of the videos its happily running 1080p content so should be alright. My old SPV C500 could decode divx and xvid and the cpu in that was terribly slow.

I'll be looking at getting one but even a lot of the talk in this thread has gone over my head :p

One thing they will need if this is ever going to take off, is excellent documentation that is easy to read and understand otherwise it'll just be another geek toy.

I wouldn't mind using one in my custom campervan build :D

Made the BBC today http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-16316439

and an impressive video playing a 1080p Star Trek trailer flawlessly

every time i see a new video of the RPi i get more and more impressed. Im glad that i can use it in my dissertation as an alternative board when it comes to the evaluation, as i mentioned in another post it has I2C comms built in (yay).

Will be picking a few of these up to replace family machines and maybe give one to my grandparents for word processing etc. Just needs a native xbmc port to run on the hardware and it will be sorted for me.

Does anyone know of bluetooth remotes that work under linux?

while I understand the attraction of these, and the backing of the idea, having Beta's on ebay currently going for £1320 is just silly!!!

I'd rather do a donate, buy later scheme where you donate 50% of the overall cost of the unit and then buy it at a later day - the donation.

Still waiting to see how the XBMC dev are getting along with it. If they can get it working to a suitable standard (long shot) then would get a few of these :)

Same, would prefer an android version though. I'm sure someone will port to it.
HTPC on a stick.

Also keeping my eye on cotton candy, but that's going to be around $125 but much more powerful.

Ultimately I wnat a windows8 version. But at those prices, even at $125 it's a relatively cheap stepping stone untill w8 is released.

They were sold for charity

I'd be interested in these if they were a little more versatile, but I'm sure that'll come.

File server - would want sata ports
HTPC - want PCI ports (tv tuner, though you could just get a usb one i suppose) and more power for emulators
