RC cars

Nevermind, I found one.

*edit* Just found this on YouTube

100+mph

will look nowhere as fast as a car going 100mph though because of how small there are.

my rc did around 50mph but looked like it was only going around 20mph unless you had a car going down the road to compare the speeds

I disagree with you there. An RC going 50mph feels really really fast, almost uncontrollable, and that's what makes it so much fun. You can really hoon about, without the law breathing down your neck. Or killing yourself..

My Stampede VXL 4x4 is probably only doing 40-50mph with its current gearing, and the first thing that puts a smile on my face is how fast its going.

feels fast to you sure but I doubt other people see it the same way.

I was asked numerous times how fast my traxxas SCT went, it was geared for a top speed of around 50mph maybe slightly more.

people were always underwhelmed with how fast it looked going down the road unless a normal car was traveling along it for them to judge the speed.

I keep thinking about buying a rock crawler or RC scale detail model (the ones that look almost real in videos)

probably be a waste of money though

Anyone know how to drop the front suspension on a Traxxas Jato 3.3? Ive looked on Google and cant seem to find anything. A bloke at work says its a couple of screws but I cant seem to see what he is talking about :(

Anyone into RC cars? I just won an auction on a VERY well kitted out Kyosho Mini Inferno 1/16th.

Last car I had was the Kyosho Inferno 7.5 oddly :P

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Project-R...JogwRYcZwXgFh3cVgLYL4%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Looking forward to getting it.

Yeah, but I have sold all of mine now.

Get yourself over to the MSUK forum if you are interested in RC generally, or if you are more into competetive racing try the Maxbashing forum.

I have had tons of RC cars from petrol to nitro to brushless, across a range of scales.

Just got to a stage where I didnt have time to use them :(

Oh - and I bought a house so the 5-6 thousand pounds I had blown on RC kit needed to be put to better use :p

From my experience you will get bored of 1/16 very quickly as they can only cope with pretty much flat surfaces. Also Kyosho are not the easiest cars to get spares for.

I would recommend a 1/8 truggy as they pretty much do it all! :D

Heres a few of my past cars:

Losi XXL

Brushless St Pro

Losi 8ight 2.0 (My car was actually featured on the Gadget show where they were doing the Guiness World Record jumps, but Otis was too scared and bottled it after the first couple of attempts!)

Hyper 7 / PBS Hybrid

E Revo VXL 1/16

KM Baja upgraded to SS Spec

HPI Baja SS

My St Pro build

Revo 3.3

My Mini St build

Well the Jato 3.3 has notched screw adjusters on the top of the suspension spring for compressing or easing off the springs.

Then if you want to alter the way the shocks sit, there should be 3 adjustment holes on the top and the bottom of where they are fixed to the car.

Just unscrew the screws, move the suspension over to the new holes and put the screws back in.

I have an HPI E-Firestorm Flux.

Great fun, but I don't really get to use it as much as I'd like. Never found any other people local to have a bash with either, which is what I'd hoped when I bought it.

Need another bit of help please.

Ive installed a brake pad for a Jato 3.3, but its not working properly, ie not stopping the car.

From what I can see there are 4 screws that need tightening/loosing. Anyone know how tight or loose they should be??

Thanks!!

last year I had a bit of a rc car buying thing, ended up building or semi building a tamiya tt02 chassis put it in its box and never got much further :( need to dig it out and finish it really

Try c first as those control the spacing of the pads, only quarter turns though.

Cheers for this. Ive adjusted the screws but have no power at all now so I need to sort this out before checking the brakes :( :)

*edit* Seems that the switch is knackered. Plugging the batteries straight into the receiver gets power to servos so I need to replace the system wiring.

I have a Tamiya Monster Beetle. It's not exactly stock.

I'm running a 120a 6T brushless setup, so it shifts a bit. It was a monster, however I've now lowered it for more stability.

Big big coincidence! I just came into this thread to scroll to the bottom and post up about my Tamiya Monster Beetle that I have from when I was a kid. I was scrolling and suddenly went over your post.

Mine is in bits at the moment but i'm thinking of getting it up and running again. I haven't had a proper look at what's broken but I know everything will be there, probably just screw holes broken, etc. It's a standard one, no upgrades.

If I have any problems, would you be able to help me out with where to get parts, etc? I'm not very clued up with RC cars these days.
