RC cars

Ive got a race meeting next weekend how many batterys will I need I'll be using 6v nihm batterys I've got 2x 1600mah and 1x 1200 will these be enough see me through the day

This will be my 1st time at a race meeting and 1st time on this track

Buy a fast charger use a leisure battery so whilst you're using your RC car, charge up the flat ones. Have a few so by the time you've used 2-3 packs, the 4th pack is charged. A few chargers can charge multiple packs at the same time.

My collection- Tamiya tt01, tb evo 3 converted tb03, ntc3, rc10, axial wraith, yeti kit for my son and a rtr yeti for me.

There’s nowhere to run rc cars, parks are full of dog poo and get hassled by mamba fiends at nearest carpark. There’s an industrial estate nearby I haven’t tried got a nice 5 foot wall onto grass. Going to get my little boy jumping that.

How much would a hopped up tt01 go for?

Alu propshaft
Carbon top shaft
Adjustable wishbones
Possibly a viper 17 esc and fireball 17t brushes motor
Just needs battery, radio, servo and servo saver and wheels.

I want to get another kit for my son to build himself, so need to get rid of some cars.

I was surprised at how many car clubs that are about in all honesty go look on maxbashing there' a good list the forum isn't that active but gives you a good list of tracks around the country

Most use face book these days

good shout I’ll have a look. There was a modelshop here been here for ages the owner sold up to one of the employees it didt last long, another one opens up that lasted a few years closed due to ill heath I think. They both did clubs but far away and I don’t drive.

I got a spot in ambergate it’s used for downhill mtb going there when I get round to driving

I think a lot of hobby shops close down now due to places like hobbyking (who are crap) and ebay or just generally dont know what there selling

I get my gear off a guy who imports the stuff from abroad and sells it from home on eBay and does custom paint jobs on shells and if he hasn' got the part he will do his best to get it for you and always gives good prices far cheaper than somewhere like wheelspin or hobbyking

It’s evolve or die. The hobby shops round my way had p*** poor websites with a fraction of what they have in store listed on the website. the only exception was the last shop which had a Facebook page and they would reply quick (like 5ub on here(not as fast though)) even out of hours, so at least you can Facebook them for a part I think they would still be trading of it wasn’t for ill heath.

Could I have a link to that eBay store please?

I'm looking to get my son a starter RC car for Christmas, preferably less than £100, and I've been looking at the WLtoys No. 12428 1 / 12 Scale 2.4GHz 4WD Off Road Vehicle (best not link unless it's a competitor!)

It comes in at around £60, probably not the best, but I'm just looking at something for him to try out and see if he likes it, any opinions or other options? Cheers.

Hello RC car people.

My 11 year old daughter has decided she wants a remote control car for Christmas, which seems a bit random, but who am I to judge.

Can anyone suggest something that's reasonably user friendly and hard wearing and which doesn't cost the earth? I don't want to spend loads of money on something that may fall out of favour in a matter of weeks, but I also don't want to skimp and buy something so crap it's not worth using. Maybe like £40-50?

Cheers.

Currently got a new 1/5th scale project on the go for my X-maxx.

New motor and selection of pinions arrived this week.

8000w (10.7bhp) of brute force. :D

Should get it moving! :p

Just need my motor mount to arrive from the US and I can do the conversion.

My daughter's birthday is coming up soon so would like to know what you went for in the end?
