RC cars

That's way too clean for a truck.

That was taken after a clean up, plus at the time of the photo I'd just put the Proline badlands on which makes it look even cleaner.

It's more dirty now, although I maintain it well and keep it in good order.

I don't bother running it in water/deep mud now as it's a right pain cleaning it, plus it wrecks your bearings etc. Ain't worth the hassle. ;)

Are the hpi trophy truggy 4.6 any good? Seems to be a few used kits for sale.

Are they pretty easy to shift on, most likely I'll play with it for a week or two and get bored.

This thread got me looking for a kit to build, was thinking a helicopter or plane might be a challenge
Not a car.... but do these have sensors or? To stop them crashing or is the guy just good at controlling it?

He's a RC pilot- requires a lot of skill.

If you go into model planes or helis expect to crash them and to spend money. A big crash results in a write off.

To do that sort of flying requires years of practise.

hmm, that puts me off and makes me want to do it more, at the same time! I like the idea of trying to land/take off from different objects/buildings etc

maybe get a cheap one first, but they all seem to be pre-built

I started flying by making scratch built foam planes from plans on rcgroups. motors controllers and everything reusable and epp foam remarkably durable. if you like building and want a non catastrophic crash for learning, I highly recommend

building from scratch would be satisfying! I take it helicopters are much harder to do from scratch? I had one of the foam indoor ones but guessing none of the outdoor ones are foam?

googling foam RC planes and helicopters now...

Will have a look...do they take quite a lot of practice to fly too?
I quite like the idea of learning to fly a helicopter....but mainly want to build something with lots of parts;

Depends what you call fly. I think they're probably easier than a helicopter, but it depends what you call flying. What you posted in that video is like watching an Olympic gymnast, and thinking you'd like to start doing a few press ups.
