Is 7800X still rumoured to be a 12GB part?
TPU certainly think so:

So £1000 would be nearly three times what their previous 12GB card cost even if it has far more shaders.

Looking forward to the "Is 12GB enough for the 7800X?" threads!

12GB is fine, its 8GB that isn't.

This is someone born in to a wealthy family, never wanted for anything and when she grew up Daddies contacts gave her an easy high paying job.

She actually thinks anyone can simply walk in to a £250K job, and that people who don't do that chose to be low paid, that's her world.
Rosie Holt is a satirist, she's not an MP :p

Right.... i'm not on twitter, and the thing is its difficult these days to tell the difference between satirists and idiots because idiots occupy a lot of government petitions making a lot of noise. Liz Truss for example.

Does this Sky News presenter know she is a satirist?

Don't want to open an argument about the total of RAM, but it's more the proportionate reduction in quantity which could be revealing. Whilst they've gone backwards which is extremely strange on a generational update, does this point to cost cutting in order to compete more strongly?

TBF, she does do her job very well and makes it seem like she is an MP, albeit bat**** nutty. If you watch the second video from 26 seconds you'll see where Rosie has snipped the interview and put it into her video.

Edit: @humbug you're not the only one, the mail fails too https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/the-post-brexit-thread.18914204/page-106#post-35973552

Have we all calmed down now?

Has everyone accepted that all I said was AMD should be not have to price a competitve product 40% cheaper than Nvidia? That's all I said in a response to another poster, and blimey did everyone go off the deep end...

I haven't said if you can't afford a 1K GPU you should get a better job, I haven't defended any GPU pricing either it is all disgusting...

Think it has something to do with the infinity cache helping out Bill but some of the latter heavily plays into it.

And another one!!!

Like fish in barrel, I just mugged off Purgatory incredibly easily, and another mug runs right into it, mind you it is Nexus so no surprise there!!!

:p

PS - Any truth in the rumour that Nvidia are going to relaunch the 4090 on November the 5th?

So you think .... I'll be back...

Homework: Read what I posted again. . I'm going to mark you very strictly this time. I'm going out for the day in a while so no rush, I won't be back until tommorow.
^... yes ... It's A Trap .. we get it :p

No worries, only way I'm going to get threw today is imagining you as :-

Could well be a reason, but marketing to the less initiated (like me!) you will look at a drop from 16Gb to 12GB and wonder what's going on there? Also, I don't think the drop in RAM itself will be a big saving, but it does suggest they are looking at shaving cost from places where possible.

They also had plenty of confirmation from nvidia that after adjusting most of their lineup from 10>12GB it was the amount that was needed all along.. ;)

uh.... that's a good looking card isn't it?

Looks almost identical to the reference 6800 - just a little more angular at the end.

12GB?! I might have to downgrade my "might be interested" to "meh" :(

But but but apparently it is dirt cheap to add more vram so why would they cut back?! Planned obsolescence maybe?

;) :D :p
