You can't put too much weight on current drivers, you need to wait at least until launch to see the real perf. There could be so many reasons for why the drivers won't allow overclocking.
Not to mention this is AMD we are talking about so the best drivers for RDNA3 will be released 5 years from now...right before they end the support for the cards. :)

guess Fine Wine is a myth

AMD store in UK was rubbish anyway. Never had much stock and couldnt even buy the short lived AMD branded 6800 XT at launch. Had to buy from competitor.
No loss since Brexit, thank god nvidia store carried on. Else hundreds more for a lower quality 4090.

I suspect the lower-than-expected clocks is due to the added complexity of the new chiplet design and AMD's effort to stay within a resonable power envelope.
Makes sense to err on the side of caution with the first gen. Maybe a refresh once they've had time to see how it works out in the wild? Lots of potential to increase the performance with this design.

Are people happy to pay over a £1000 for a GPU that still sucks at RT.
£1000 GPU is not for me but I think there are people that still aren't fussed until RT is ubiquitous and doesn't require upscaling/causes a performance hit. Ray tracing is the future but is still a few generations away from mass adoption. Once the XX60 card can do it well it will be a much bigger factor imo. Anyone who really wants it now will have to stump up for a 4090.

Well I guess an AMD fan would say that. Nearly all triple AAA games are coming with RT and AMD again have dropped the ball on that front yet still want over a grand for it, that's not progress. What is the reason you want a new GPU, it's for more FPS and higher IQ, AMD have opted for the former.

"Sucks at RT", appears from the AMD promo material to mean "around equal to or maybe better than a 3090", a card which nvidia seem still to be trying to punt at over £1k, while telling everyone in their 4xxx launch video that 'most gamers should be satisfied with the 3000 series performance'

But sure, it's AMD giving bad value for money. LOL.

It's bizarre man

Go back a few months and every amd leaker on YouTube was claiming around 120 CUs and 3.5ghz clocks leading to nearly 150% to 200% more performance than 6950xt and then what we got was 50% to 70% more performance. It's Poor Volta levels of BS that leakers fed people for months and months and it's already starting again - AdoredTV claiming RDNA4 will be more than double RDNA3 performance and beat Nvidia in RT
All of these YouTube leakers are full of poo anyway, the only person around with a reliable track record is Kopite and they're nvidia focused.

I mean its this kind of low rent trolling that trashes these threads, same for CPU's.
