RDNA 3 rumours Q3/4 2022

Ah so you decided to just be your usual **** like about it then, what a surprise

Hence why I worded this, underlined, in bold and enlarged just for you, also not notice the "?" at the end of the 2 questions:

And where did I say "delayed"? I obviously hadn't read/seen the bit/video where she said "releasing later this year" hence why in my post, I haven't said anything about a "delay" and once again, hence the "?"

So yeah keep on being you....
The thread titles talks about the cards launching this year. Everyone who talks about RDNA 3 talks about it launching this year. The shareholder meetings talk about RDNA3 launching this year. The most solid information we had on RDNA 3 is that it is launching this year. And you were somehow not aware of this, even though you are posting all over the GPU section of the forums. Yeah I believe you.

Oh wait even you thought something was launching this year. Nobody asks that unless they have a reason to think something was coming out this year. Betrayed by your own words
So that means no products till next year then?

Sorry my bad I was being harsh, everyone knows that RDNA 2 didn't have a separate conference and was launched at CES 2021. We all remember that.

Oh wait.

Credit given were credit due you managed to get me to bite.

Looks like Nvidia will have the run of things for a while then. Might wait until AMD release to upgrade, they need a helping hand (assuming they release as broadly equivalent product).

Ah yes because thread titles are always the most up to date highly accurate source of info aren't they...

Of course I presumed something was launching this year hence why I was asking, again this is what "?" means i.e. it's a question and hence my second question of:

Or is amd holding a different press conference this year?

Which came straight after the first question of:

So that means no products till next year then?

Not think that if I wanted to "bait" or/and give the impression there was a delay, I might have just said "AMD delayed RDNA 3 and not revealing rdna 3 till Jan 2023"

Not sure why you are struggling so hard to understand this. Maybe you are reading into it too much and just looking for an argument as per usual? Or maybe you are trolling/baiting now.......

i just saw the blog post by AMD, the focus on energy efficiency can only mean that they're not competing with 4090 - also the messaging sounds a bit like PR damage control.. i hope thats not the case though

edit: how to change profile pic?

Careful with comments like that around here......

It sounds to me like amd are putting all their eggs into one basket and hoping it pays of, which given the energy bills now, it could very well do, especially since on an "enthusiasts" forum, people care about this the most along with raster. performance and vram i.e. all of amds/rdna 2 strengths, if rdna 3 nails these, I expect amd to be clawing back market share like there's no tomorrow.

Under your account settings, however, if it is the queen avatar still (I hide mine), you won't be able to change it.

Well, if it doesn't pay off I guess AMD can just release an "x50" series with much higher clocks and consumption...

While true, if you compare 6600xt to the 5700xt it is 160w vs 225w. So you get 10% more performance from the 6600xt while using 30% less power.

Based on @humbug post, It seems the performance per watt gain for RDNA 2 may increase as the board power increased
The 6700XT is again 20% faster than a 5700XT at 220w vs 230w, so while it looks good for the top binned SKU the 6900XT when you look at the gen on gen for the equivalent parts it's still only a 20% improvement for that 65% efficiency and a 20% price increase so no better price to performance,

I think the only 2 cards for RDNA2 that improved on price to performance over RDNA1 were the 6800 and 6800XT, the rest offered the same or worst than RDNA1 which is why I hold little hope that AMD is serious about challenging nvidia.

The narrative seems to be AMD 7800/7900 reference cards will not try to compete with the AMD AIB custom cards and instead, will take a different route for this generation. That will probably mean the AMD reference cards will be slower than the Nvidia reference cards.

That does not mean that the Sapphire 7900 Toxic won't pull 600 watts but it does mean that AMD simultaneously keeps AIB's happy and keeps the costs down.

A 4090 card is all well and good but like I said above, as a gamer, what am I going to run on it that a 4070/7800 class card won't run? The gaming calendar looks like its going to cycle peak in Christmas 2023, over a year from now, at the moment the PC calendar is dire for at least the next 6 months.

Look at the lengths Nvidia AIBs are having to go to, in order to differentiate from the 4090 reference design, some of the leaks of the 4/5 slot coolers look ridiculous.

Exactly this, IMO AMD have been listening to AIB's and are going to let them create cards that are clearly distinguishable in performance from reference.

AMD's reference cards will cheaper to make but also not AS good.

Surprised how more tight lip this has been compared to the Nvidia leeks. The MCM was the only info we had and turned out to be true but everything else seems tight lipped

AMD obviously have something amazing up their sleeves, which will leave nvidia in the dust..... ;)

With Nvidia about to about to formally announce the 4000 series I expect AMDs ship to miraculously spring a leak over the next few weeks.

That's strange I thought AMD was going to launch their GPUs during CES 2023

They use the word "launch". It implies that we can buy them on November 3rd?

Wow. My weak patience might he able to wait a month. Nvidia will really need to get agressive with pricing if they want me to jump now.
