Rebel Moon | Netflix

7/10
Not bad, considering some of the poor reviews I have read for the film.
was entertaining to watch lots of 40k vibes in it, mixed up with a pitch of star wars. Being a fan of both, may of helped my more positive view of it.

All I could think was How awesome is 40k going to be when it hits the big screen!!

This film really isn't all that bad. It's more did they really need to make it in two parts?

You don't need 4 to 5 hours to make an epic movie. I miss tight scripts. it must be a lost artform

I was thinking the same thing, does depend on aspect of the 40k universe they go with. Personally I would rather they didn’t go down the space marine route for the series. Yes they need to be a part of it, as they are the poster boy for the games workshop.

They were cool, but I didn't get what they were supposed to be. At first I thought they were molten metal from the target, but the robot had barely a mark on it afterwards. I think probably the guns themselves were supposed to be firing molten metal "bullets"? Kinda like bolt guns in 40k.
Careful, Brother, that’s almost heresy.

Recite the Litany Of Loading 10 times and report to the Enginseer Armourer for remedial Bolter training.

Pretty lame really.
Some half decent fight scenes but terribly cliched dialogue and storyline. I also feel these movies struggle in the world of 10 part seasons. Two plus hours is about 2.2 episodes and they end up not sacrificing character development and dialogue for action and fx.
It wasn't terrible but it wasn't good either.
5/10.

Edit - read in the Independent that there was a longer Directors cut that Netflix may release later.

Well I just got around to watching it. I wasn't blown away. I will reserve judgement until I have seen the director's cut early next year and part 2. Here's hoping....

Complete waste of time watching this drivel. Generic getting-the-team-together movie with zero charm or energy. Avoid like the plague.

It's odd to think that Zak Snyder has directed 2 films I hold in very high regard (Dawn of the Dead, The Watchmen) and managed to write AND direct one good feature (Sucker Punch) but has managed to fumble almost everything else spectacuarly.

He reminds me a LOT of David Goyer. They need another voice to balance things out.
